To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but it morally treasonable to the American public.
The greatest threat to the freedom of any nation is erosion-not of soil, but erosion of the national morality and character. What we have to fear is not force from without, but weakness from within. These are the pillars upon which any nation's national security rests.
1.Faith in God and the universal brotherhood of all mankind.
2.Strong homes and family ties.
3.A political climate and governmental system that protects man's inalienable rights.
4.Elected government officials who are wise and good, and a vigilant, informed citizenry.
"A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague."
Marcus Tullius Cicero, 106-43 Roman Statesman, Philosopher and Orator

From the article: “he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”
This [that “he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine”] sounds EXACTLY like Congress’s meetings & particularly votings concerning health-care. That [”he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist”] sounds exactly like those proposing gun-control legislation.
I do agree that a [violent] murder is less to be feared; you know where you stand with him. With our own government though, you are as nothing, to simply be disregarded in all except as a source of income. Yes, these traitors ARE a plague.
Yes....it makes perfect sense and this statement should be placed on bill boards beside every major freeway and highway in the country. That’s the best way to get it out to the people. Glenn Beck should have it on every show also.
We are being undone by the ‘enemy within’. Speaking of which, I just received this discouraging U-tube link in an eMail showing Senator elect Scott Brown:

When men give up their freedom willingly in the name of security, they soon loose even that degraded security—Cicro
Sounds like Ben Frankln!
I dunno.
