I found the excellent web page by a real climate scientist on the hoax of global warming: http://solarcycle25.com/index.php ScienceDaily (Feb. 5, 2010) The notion that scientists understand how changes in Earth's orbit affect climate well enough for estimating long-term natural climate trends that underlie any anthropogenic climate change is challenged by findings just published.
The new research was conducted by a team led by Professor Eelco Rohling of the University of Southampton's School of Ocean and Earth Science hosted at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton.
"Understanding how climate has responded to past change should help reveal how human activities may have affected, or will affect, Earth's climate. One approach for this is to study past interglacials, the warm periods between glacial periods within an ice age," said Rohling.
He continued: "Note that we have here focused on the long-term natural climate trends that are related to changes in Earth's orbit around the Sun. Our study is therefore relevant to the long-term climate future, and not so much for the next decades or century."
There’ve been 20 periods of glacial advance ~ we are about 5,000 years overdue for the 21st period.
Bookmarked the website. Looks like a good source. Thanks for this post.
“scientists” understand solar cycles very well.
It’s the climate whores* parading as scientists who distort the facts.
* Climate whore:
An individual or group who accepts money in return for supporting or promoting the global warming fraud in spite of the scientific data.
Good site. Thanks.
So what’s the list of stuff affecting earth’s climate?
sunspots
ocean temperatures
tilt of earth & orbit
He and a fellow scientist created a mathematical theory, known as the Milankovich Cycles, that describes the exact impact of tilt, orbit, and the interplay between the gravitational pull of the planets as they progress through space.
His formula was confirmed when ice core samples, dated approximately 400,000 years ago, showed cyclical periods of cooling and warming, just as the formula predicted it would.
Long before the industrial revolution, the combustion engine, and Al Gore's turgid ramblings.
Climate whores is right. Idiots is a better word for them.
Perhaps the Earth’s wobble could be what is effecting our climate ? I wonder if the Meanie Greenies ever thought about that ?
good question
Until someone can explain to me about the Medieval warm period, the time when the coast of Greenland was green, it’s hard to believe all this crapola. Greenland became much more icy after medieval times. Are we to believe that the Medieval warm period was due to the Vikings driving SUVs around Greenland??????
Haven’t we been in a long term warming period since the end of the last ice age?
Did Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon man drive SUVs and have coal fired power plants?
Since so many climate changes happened before the Industrial Revolution, the global warming pushers have lots to explain. And we know how they explain things. They falsify the climate records to “prove” whatever they want to prove.

Would you be kind enough to share the data source of “20 periods” and “5,000” years. Thanks....
We are actually still in an ice age.
We are technically in an interglacial period in this current ice age. When this ice age ends, it will get much, much warmer. Average interglacial periods are about 11,000 years. Typical glacial periods last around 100,000 years if I remember correctly. Ice age/non ice age cycles are much longer...
Serbed us well.
This shows a good visual, http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/earth/climate/cli_sun.html
Its the Sun spot cycle, plus the Milankovitch Cycles that cause temperature changes on the planet.
So we’re going to be looking at Gore style global warming after all, but not for reasons that Gore knows anything about.
The 11-Year Solar Cycle
When the Sun has fewer sunspots, it gives off less energy, less energy makes its way to Earth, and our planet cools down. More than three hundred years ago, when the climate was cooler for a time called the “Little Ice Age”, people noticed there were no sunspots for several decades. Over time, scientists have noticed a pattern in the number of sunspots. About every 11 years the number of sunspots reaches a high and then decreases again.
Milankovitch Cycles
Over thousands of years, changes in Earth’s orbit cause changes in the amount of the Sun’s energy that gets to the planet. Over the past several million years these changes have caused cycles of global warming and cooling.
There are three ways that Earth’s orbit changes over time.
Eccentricity: The shape of Earth’s orbit around the Sun becomes slightly more and then less oval every 100,000 years.
Precession: Earth wobbles on it axis as it spins, completing a full wobble every 23,000 years.
Tilt: The angle of the Earth’s axis relative to the plane of its orbit changes about three degrees every 41,000 years.
Not for a long, long time... So long from now that humans could be traveling far beyond this solar system...
Thanks — on it.
I have a list of favorite arguments about the physics of carbon dioxide which I think has better potential for defeating the man-made carbon dioxide theory but I don’t see these kinds of arguments being put forth.
I’ll add to my list.
"Its the climate whores* parading as scientists who distort the facts." Unfortunately, the scientific community as a whole tolerate the climate whores.
It really doesn’t matter what they know or, even, how smart they are. All that matters is the agenda. It transcends any actual truth about climate.
The radiation from our sun is the ultimate source of energy and warmth on earth. Our atmosphere and the earth’s surface is continually bombarded by a wide range of electromagnetic radiation, protons, electrons and cosmic rays, which emanate largely from our sun but also from outer space. The intensity of this radiation varies with sun spot activity which are enormous electromagnetic storm regions that are observed to develop periodically on the surface of the sun.
Historical observation of sun spot activity has shown it to be roughly cyclical in nature, time wise. The interval between maxima is about 11 years and for the big solar cycle of 100 years there are 9 individual 11 year cycles.
The nucleation of clouds from water vapor is thought to be caused by cosmic rays which impinge on the earth from outer space. When sun spot activity is high the increased magnetic field of the sun deflects the cosmic rays from the earth thus causing a lower tendency for cloud formation. Also the greater the UV radiation from the sun results in evaporation of the high altitude ice particles and the cloud cover disappears. In general, periods of high sunspot activity are related to global warming and periods of low sun spot activity with global cooling. http://solarcycle25.com/index.php?tid=13
