DeVore has 54% in California Tea Party Poll

According to a new poll of 10,000 Tea Party members in California, Chuck DeVore is the overwhelming favorite in the GOP Senate race to win the June 8 primary over his two Republican opponents.

Senate:

Tom Campbell 12%

Chuck DeVore 54%

Carly Fiorina 21%

Other 13%

A poll done statewide by SurveyUSA last week showed DeVore in third place but moving up, while Carly Fiorina had dropped 5-10 points in certain demographics. See here.

Carly Fiorina, a former aide to John McCain during his 2008 run for president, was recently endorsed by Sarah Palin, McCain’sformer running mate. Palin has received thousands of negative comments on her Facebook page about her brush-off of conservative DeVore, with whom she appeared on the Tea Party Express Tour. DeVore’s campaign says his financial contributions picked up.

Fiorina’s recent endorsement by the California Pro-Life Council has also been greeted with skepticism by California conservatives. Fiorina campaigned just two years ago with McCain as a “pro-choice” candidate. She has also said during her race that she would have voted to confirm Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who is pro-abortion.

Adding to the backlash by DeVore supporters, Erick Erickson, the publisher of the prominent conservative website, RedState.com, has just taken the unusual position of demanding a personal apology from the California Pro-Life Coalition.

Erickson and his writers have been staunch supporters of DeVore’s candidacy since last year. Erickson says the California Pro-Life Council has recently emailed false information to its supporters’ list about the DeVore campaign:

“Maybe it is their lack of reading comprehension that led the California Pro-Life Council to endorse Carly Fiorina over Chuck DeVore. DeVore has a strong pro-life record. Fiorina does not.

If there is some way to get just the tea party folks in Cali to vote (and no one else) then Devore is a shoe-in.

It would help if so-called conservatives like Sarah Palin would keep their yaps shut until after the primary.

Well, it could be in the scheduling. We Tea Partiers are scheduled to vote on a Tuesday. All others on the following Wednesday.

Well I would generally agree but over the last few election cycles we have heard a lot of “the primaries are the time for these fights” and so it only makes sense that is what is happening now.

I love Sarah, but it appears she’s forgetting about the grassroots and conservative principles and going GOP first. It’s a real shame.

Well, if that polling data is even close to accurate he is a shoo in.

The primaries are a time for these fights. In Arizona and in California, Sarah Palin chose the wrong side of the fight.

I get this.

Yet, I have not seen a single flyer, TV ad, newspaper article about him. I didn't even know he was running until I read it on FR. How does he get state wide traction if people don't know who he is or that he is running?

I was elated when McLame selected her. I'm just really struggling to figure out why she went with Fiorona. I don't get it. I can kind of see the endorsement of Juan in AZ, but even then, she had to compromise her own principles to do so, which I find a bit upsetting.

Well, he doesn’t have Fiorina’s millions, but he does accept and is grateful for donations from grassroots conservatives.

Fiorina is on McCain’s team. McCain is trying to expand his power base of sycophants and lapdogs in the Senate so he can pass his plans for amnesty, global warming, campaign finance, gang of 14, etc.

I agree.

She is now a 100% politician. I know because all politicians suffer from hearing problems. Her hearing is gone…totally.

My sentiments exactly! Actually I feel sick over her endorsement of Carly and McCain...We must keep our eyes on the GOAL and not the PERSON!

Sarah if you read FR, You my dear, need to REFOCUS and listen to that Still Small Voice inside...not the roaring voice of the GOP!!

What happened to Going Rogue? She certainly hasn't been very rogue as of late.

DeMint is passing you on the right, Sarah! Stop courting the GOP, for Pete's sake.

(Yes, after further research, I'm switching my support from Fiorina to DeVore. I will be happy for Boxer to be defeated, regardless, but DeVore would be best!)

Sarah? Are you listening?
