Alaska Senate: Miller (R), Murkowski Are Now Nearly Tied (Miller 35, Murkowski 34, McAdams 27)
Rassmusen ^ | 10/13/10

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Alaska shows Republican Joe Miller with 35% support and Murkowski, the incumbent senator he defeated in the state’s GOP Primary now running as a write-in candidate, with 34% of the vote. Democrat Scott McAdams runs third with 27%. One percent (1%) prefers another candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The race remains Solid Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings because if Murkowski wins she is expected to caucus with the GOP in the Senate.

There has not been accurate polling in Ak for many years.

Telephohe polling is very skewed due to the bad habit of most alaskans just hanging up on pollsters.

These are the same pollsters that had her up by 20 before the primary. Alaska is way to big and way to spread out to have a true representative sample. Apart from the whole challenge of being a write in candidate, it's very difficult to believe that people who voted for Miller the first time around, suddenly find Lisa Muckface such a superior choice.

the polls are all trending this way.

Frankly, the Senate may be slipping from our grasp (don’t really consider her Republican).

But, the polls were way off in the primaries and honestly we may come up with even more than 10 in the Senate.

Regardless, I am very confident we will take back the House. That’s almost a done deal.

This poll did not include Lisa as an option, so it likely is pretty accurate.

People had to volunteer that they would vote for her.

That said, regardless....wouldn’t be happy if she won, but at least the Democrat is way behind.

It is going to get even dirtier before its over. Lisa and the dems have pulled out all the stops to keep us from having a conservative senator in Washington. Lisa picked up another 800K from the natives via their corporations. They know she will keep their non competitive contract status intact. So it looks like natives, democrats and their unions are solidly behind Lisa. That’s an evil triumvirate to overcome. What disgusts me is that they have supporters who call themselves republicans. I am done with the republican party if this witch pulls off a victory or gives it to the democratic socialist. As Dennis Prager says, this is a moment of clarity for Alaska.

Oh dear God. Murkowski *is* evil. I hope Miller’s team knows how to fight. This senate seat has to go to him. She lost the primary and she’s in it for all the wrong reasons. I find this very upsetting. Thanks for replying to me.

Saying you support Murkowski and going through the trouble to write her name in on the ballot without screwing it up are two different things. I think Miller wins and it isn’t close.
