Some of that depends on the caliber of the weapon (not listed). If it was a .45, it would have gone right through the guy into whoever was behind him. A .22 probably wouldn’t have killed him with two shots, unless they were in the right spot. A .380, not full metal jacket, better chance of putting the target down, without going through, big mess for the coroner though (but, really, who cares, he’s dead, yea!).

Actually, the .45 ACP is a low velocity round with a large cross section. Tends to expend its energy in the target. A friend in Nam killed a VC at close range, who was standing over him about to unload his AK. The shot sent the VC into a full back flip. The .22 LR rimfire will make nice neat holes, make little mess, and can be a good round with good placement (a guy shot by his girlfriend through the arm died when the bullet ricocheted around his chest, piercing his heart 4 times). Personally, I don’t like the .380 much, tho I do have a Sig Sauer .380 pocket pistol.
