In California more than 12 inches of rain has fallen in parts of the Santa Monica Mountains in the south and 13 feet of snow has accumulated at Mammoth Mountain.
Actually more than 15 1/2 feet of snow at Mammoth Mountain with over 9 feet in the town, a ski resort.With that said, I don't think the Summer snow in Australia is that unusual, the High Sierra of California of California gets some snow in July almost every year, I have seen it quite a few times, but the national and world news has never reported on it.
Of course, the jet stream does not itself produce the cold weather, it is only a contributor to its distribution.
Joe Bastardi, of Accuweather, has been predicting this cold snap over the southern and eastern US and Europe since last summer.
This is just normal climate change. (No AGW)
The only solution for this is massive taxes on rich nations administered through the United Nations. Not.

We have know for almost 100 years that weather is more variable during sunspot minimums and maximums.... We are just leaving a very long minimum and yes the weather will be more variable.
The Globalist do not want to accept the fact that this is cyclical and not man made. (they cannot tax something that cannot be blamed on man)

Winter of 1970 it snowed on Christmas eve in NW Arkansas and NE Oklahoma.
Winter of 2010 we are preparing for snow and ice on Christmas eve in the same areas.
In 1956 it snowed right around Thanksgiving.
In 1957 it snowed right around Thanksgiving.
In 1958 it snowed on thanksgiving day.
In 1959 it snowed right around Thanksgiving.
2010 we had ice on thanksgiving day.
Nothing to worry about here. Nothing has changed.

Some boob...said it was from the oil spill...the gulf stream had been so badly damaged it was no longer flowing northward...when I heard that I thought...what planet does this guy live on...total bs..
Apparently NY is supposed to get rocked by this after Christmas. Though I’ve been checking radar every few hours and the cell that was pounding New England seems to have dissipated.
I’m near Syracuse, NY and last week we got three feet of snow, the week before 4 feet. So it will definitely be a white Christmas. Some years we have no snow until January, or at least nothing substantial that sticks. That’s just how the weather is— unpredictable, but we’re always ready. Kids were mad they only got one day off in the last two weeks because we know how to deal with it. I have pictures of my dad from the blizzards of ‘66 and I think ‘78 and the snow is piled over his head and he was 6’ 4”! I don’t remember ‘66, but heard the stories how those with snowmobiles pulled together to help each other out, old people get food, etc. In ‘78 it was just fun and in ‘93 or ‘94 we got 5’ at the end of March. But they always give Buffalo all the credit for snow!
