It saddens me to think that we were once capable of doing such great feats of building.
Now we drown in a cesspool of government and leftist interference.

The goombah construction unions would NEVER allow that kind of nonsense.

Wait. What? No way!
You mean, instead of sitting around saying “We’re so screwed,” and “It’s doomsday,” and “Where are my iodide pills,” and “Buy gold!,” these folks did work and accomplished something?
What were they thinking??

Those crazy Japanese. They'll do it everytime!
Remember Pink Lady, the pop sensation that had a Top 40 hit in American during 1979?
Anyway, the Japanese people are a lot like me, they are extremely polite, hard-working and they like to eat a lot of fish. I would consider moving there but I can't make heads or tails out of their language.

Here in western NY, the local Gov’t has been talking for the last 20 years about building a new bridge across the Niagara River to Canada
They are still talking....

Another point of comparison between Japan and the US will be the rebuild. How is New Orleans doing these days?

It saddens me to think that we were once capable of doing such great feats of building. True, now highway improvement projects can take years. Near San Antonio, we've watched the same stretches of highways under "improvement" take over 20 years. We've gotten so used to it that we now look at miles of orange cones and concrete barricades as part of the "improvements".

Now how’d they do that without $1 Billion in foreign aid from the U.S. ?

And yet New Orleans’s is still a cesspool years later.

When the big earthquake hit the Los Angelos area and the government waived environmental impact studies, the roads were repaired in about 1/4 the time estimated on an already rushed schedule.
Environmental impact studies are a waste of time and money.

Here in Tampa, we have a blvd. that they have been working on for a year and it still isn't finshed. I guess it's hard to complete anything when you have one guy working and six drinking coffee and leaning on shovels.

Holy! If that were in California, Calpers would still be at it for 10 months.
To: PanzerKardinal
Yes we did things like that until, we dumbed down for the idiot minority contractors and Union freeloader, screw the man crews.

The picture on the right looks like it was taken about a half mile short of the picture on the left, and the bottom picture doesn’t seem to be near either area.

I bet it would only take them 4 weeks to build a really bitchin’ wall right where we need it.
