A friend of mine is an extreme coupon queen. She complains/brags about how she gets $100 worth of groceries for free, but the Store manager refuses to give her the 18 cents due her at checkout. She even brings her own...brown paper bags!
To me, it’s just annoying. She’s a tightwad and it has been embarrassing and annoying on occasion.
Kind of stupid. I always make sure to pay something plus if the amount is small I don't argue the change since I already got my good deals. I just want to split and go to my next deal. However, I did have this incident happen to me:
I picked up a whole bunch of chicken wings, a Porterhouse steak, and a six pack of beer. I used my coupons and when I whipped out some money, the cashier said I didn't owe anything. Okay, so it was exactly zero, or so I thought, as I began to leave.
Then behind me I heard the cashier call out:
"Sir, please come back."
"Uh-oh!" I thought. This can't be good.
When I returned, the cashier said, "Your forgot to get your money." And she gave me $2.05.
So I got all that stuff FREE plus $2.05. I usually try to owe something but my miscalculation caused them to give me money back.
And how would you like to be paid to "buy" all that stuff?
