The 1400ad Chevy Caveman SUV was a classic model. It did have issues passing the EPA exhaust standards tests but it was a rugged vehicle.

It actually says the ice shelf broke up about 1,400 years ago ( 600AD) and reformed approximately 800 years ago ( 1200AD.)
Rather coincidental to the Medieval Warm Period

For those interested in the evolution of Earth, there's a modern update to Darwin's theory in "Darwin's Ghost" by Steve Jones.
Jones' book parallels Darwin's book (in chapter names) and his facts are fascinating; in the four chapters dealing with geography , for instance ...
One spectacular Earth fact is that ...
"... the summit of Everest is formed of rocks made in a shallow sea." (page 252)
Another is ... regarding Earth:
"Five hundred million years ago the air had twenty times as much carbon dioxide as it contains now." (page 231)

Something that happened 1,400 years ago, is not something that happened in 1400 A.D., it’s something that happened in approximately 611 A.D.
That’s about 300 years before (and maybe along the way to) the “warming” that was so noticeable to the Norse, in the 10th century, when they went off to settle “Greenland”.
Given how long a “warming” period or “cooling” period can be, in its beginning, middle and decline, it is possible that the Ice Shelf break-up in the 7th century and the warming period noticed in the 10th, have some common long term causes.

Check out these Aurora Borealis images from yesterday. Old Sol has come back to life, now we need it to stay active for a couple of years because the next maximum is supposed to be weak according to NASA.
