Now that the truth is out about the 'HISTORIC WIN' for Romney does it matter?

You bet it does but it also shows that Iowa was in the tank for Romney and STILL is because they claim it is NOW a tie between Romney and Santorum...a TIE?

Well why do they say it is NOW a tie because there some precincts that will never be counted when the same facts existed when they claimed Romney was called the winner by just eight votes?

Romney has only won the state where he was expected to.

No historic! No sweep!

The only thing Romney did in Iowa is take an undeserved victory lap.

Chico Marx in Animal Crackers describes the MSM selection process by redoing a selection game until Harpo is the one selected. Can’t find the clip, unfortunately.

No. It only matters as a technicality now for those who like to keep score. It would have mattered more had this been revealed on Jan 3rd. It could have given Santorum a bigger and more sustained bounce (although I don't think it would have lasted much longer than it did). Too late now. Romney already reaped most of the benefits of the media hype and headlines back when it mattered.

So where are all the people that ragged on us that said the state was full of idiots?

I recall all types of talk about how we were being “elitists” for thinking that Iowa was a poor choice to hold anything first.

This should queue up the “Destroy Santorum” machine on the left. Wonder what it will be? Maybe he had affairs with Newt’s wife in 1997 in exchange for oil rights in Bangladesh.

BOY!!! Those pesky recounts, huh?

I live in WI; no vote is truly over until at least three recounts, five court mandated challenges, at least two take-overs of the state capitol, and four full re-call elections are held. So it takes a few years!!! So it costs five times as much as the original vote? So what?

Remember: this IS Wisconsin!

Just a side note....seems this only happens in WI when the rinos have the state government controls. When the libs do, nary a word is heard from the rinos.

Coincidence?

Wikipedia was quick, though. This is their running map of states won in the GOP primaries, caucus. One each for Santorum and Mittens:

Friend of mine working in London who likes a bet had GBP 50 on Santorum to win Iowa about 10 days before the vote, at odds of 16/1. He’s more a Newt than a Santorum fan (though right now think he’d settle for either as the nominee) but he just thought the price was good value.

The bookmakers apparently paid out on Mitt as the winner the day after. Seeing as he has GBP 850 (USD 1300) at stake here, he’s going back there tomorrow to argue his case for being paid, on the basis of this result....

outrages for romney to call it a tie! If it`s a tie being behind 34 votes, why is it not a tie when he was supposedly up by 8 votes?

What a shame this is, now it really counts for very little, had it been a ‘victory’ it would almost have certainly propelled him forward. He fizzled out quite quickly in NH, and has been relegated back down the pecking order, whereas Newt has risen again (I actually think that’s a good thing).

One wonders what dirty laundry there is around the Romney camp on this one......

I think to some extent this hurts Newt since he is suggesting that Rick Santorum should bow out - get out of Newt's way.

Rick not only bettered Newt in each of the 1st 2 states, but it turns out that he actually beat everyone in Iowa.

Now, a Romney’s win won’t be a historic screwing. It will be just a regular screwing.
