How can any right thinking Christian, conservative or tea party supporter justify voting for Romney?

How can any right thinking Christian, conservative or tea party supporter justify voting for Romney?

Romney is an empty suit. A complete fraud. Worse, he's anti-tea party, anti-conservative, anti-liberty! He has absolutely zero conservative accomplishments to his name. His ONLY accomplishments in government are liberal, ie, tax payer funded abortion, gay marriage, gun control, RomneyCare, mandates, etc. He is Obama-lite.

Are these voters uninformed, terrified, brainwashed, or just plain nuts?

As for Obama, better the enemy I know. But he will have at least one more Supreme COurt appointment and that I fear more than Romney, but it will be a last minute decision if the POS RINO wins.

In the primaries a vote for Santorum is a vote for Romney.

In the general election a vote for Romney is...a...well, hell, what's the difference between Romney and Obama? Can ANYONE really name one with a straight face?

It would be better that Romney lose a general election. Just don't vote for him.

Now, Newt ain't dead yet. He can still pull this out. But he can't do it without money. Word on Faux news is that Newt is down to $1mil, maybe a little less. Everyone needs to contribute there after they contribute here.

But, I contend the Conservative Movement would be better off by ensuring Romney is not elected, period.

If he wins the nomination, we should vote every down-ticket race and leave POTUS blank.

Or, ideally, a 3rd party will emerge if Romney closes it on Super Tuesday.

George Soros has recently said that there is no difference between 0bama and R0mney. So if these are the two choices, then the only thing that matters is your Congressman and you Senator. If there is no difference between them, then I would say vote for the Democrats on all tickets so we can get this train wreck over and get on with the 2nd American Revolution.

I am not a bot but I would like to think we would get better judges. I really would prefer Santorum, but that does not appear to be a choice...So one difference is judges. Another difference is Romney throws Obamacare back to the states to decide what they want. Tax rates will not go as high under Romney. We drive toward the end at the speed limit not in overdrive. Pubbies will take to the same place only slower. Now you can pull the lever for Obama if you wish.

“I would vote for Santorum in the primary. In the general, if Romney is the nominee, I will vote for him over Obama.”

Few will admit that publically on FR, even though it’s true with an overwhelming majority of us – with getting grid of Obama being the most important thing, above all.

All I can hope for is that Mitt, if he is our nominee, picks one helluva VEEP. That is the only way I can see any level of excitement over the election remaining on this forum.

"Only 12% of GOP voters thought it was important to nominate a conservative."

And the NYT just posted a similar wrap-up that noted "About 7 in 10 Republican primary voters in Florida consider themselves conservative". Which means -- at most! -- 17% of Florida conservatives think it's important to nominate a conservative.

I read into that only this : the desire to defeat Obama is so great that it is blinding not just many, but most, to the principles that guide their politics in the first place.

But I've said all along that Bobo is unreelectable -- and conservatives who sat on the sidelines may look back at their choice with regret...

“”BTW: How did my “fickle” statement elicit your Perry comment, just curious…”

I wasn’ “belittling” Governor Perry. He was the best candidate of the bunch and Romney targeted him from the beginning. I was heart-broken when Governor Perry folded tent but I understood the no path forward bit. Plus he had a job to finish at home. Your fickle comment just made me think of all the so-called Christian leaders in South Carolina who had endorsed him and then abandoned him for Newt. I couldn’t believe it. They were happy enough at the beginning when they thought he could win and then just jumped ship. I’ve had a hard time accepting how he was treated.
Sorry if I didn’t make myself clearer.

I’m an ex-mormon whose first two decades of life were pretty screwed up, and there’s no way in hell I’m going to live in a country with a shadow capitol in Salt Lake City.

Explains why he wishes to avoid the issues and attack Newt personally.

The MSM's saving their vetting of Romney until after he wins the nomination and then they will turn on him as fast as they turned on McCain.

Problem is, Romney is a MAJOR flip flopper and liar. The media can easily expose him by showing all the videos and articles that we have already seen about him. The media's sitting on them. No way he can beat Obama.

Obama will tell him "you were before the bail-outs before you were against them" and he will say "Obamacare is the national version of Romneycare".

I think McCain had a better chance to beat Obama in 2008 than Romney will have in 2012. After all, Romney lost to McCain.

Praying for Newt!

I believe that true conservatives are never “crazy” about anyone running for office. We understand human nature.

Agree. That’s why Newt needs to drop out so Santorum can beat Romney.

I second that motion!

Newt is very damaged goods. There will be an October surprise a day for all 31 days, I assure you, if he is the nominee.

People forget that Mitt won an election once, and had to govern.

Mitt did appoint a lot of judges, non were conservative, and only 1 out of 4, was even Republican.

I agree - Romney must be choose one hell of a VEEP. From the way he sounds lately, I have a feeling Santorum is jockeying for that nod. If it was a Romney/Santorum ticket, then yes I would vote for them.

If it is not Santorum or another conservative VEEP choice, I would still hold my nose and vote for Romney simply to get rid of Eric Holder, and just enjoy Obama’s departure as a bonus.
