Hell, Churchill cozied up to Stalin when the need arose. It wasn’t that he didn’t despise Stalin, just that he had more pressing considerations at the time.

Churchill and Roosevelt cozying up to Stalin, caused the 50 year expensive Cold War and at least for the United States point completely unnecessary.
In fact, if the U.S. had never became cozy with the Soviet Union, WWII would have probably ended much more favorably to the U.S.
