Andrea Mitchell: ‘If Pennsylvania Is In Play, Then This Is All Over For The President’(no filter!)
Mediaite/MSNBC ^ | November 5, 2012 | Andrea Mitchell

Posted on 11/05/2012 12:39:13 PM PST by Seizethecarp

While examining some possible Electoral College scenarios with NBC News White House Correspondent Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell wondered why President Barack Obama’s campaign would send former President Bill Clinton to Philadelphia if they were confident the Keystone State was unlikely to flip to Mitt Romney on Tuesday. “If Pennsylvania is in play, then this is all over for the president,” Mitchell said.

“Why would you send Bill Clinton to Philadelphia if you weren’t certain that the people of Philadelphia were going to turn out and you would have a Democratic victory,” Mitchell asked Todd.

I don’t think your looking at it right. The theory is that Ohio is a hard battleground simply because of all the negative attacks early in the campaign. PA has no such issue. Coal country has never been hit harder than under Zero. All we have to do is overcome a predictably depressed Phily turnout and we can win it. Democrats have known for years it was only a matter of time before PA went red. This may be the year.

Pure propaganda spin:

“Why would you send Bill Clinton to Philadelphia if you weren’t certain that the people of Philadelphia were going to turn out and you would have a Democratic victory,” Mitchell asked Todd.

The weather is “gorgeous” here in Wisconsin as well - they can’t say that is the reason for no one showing up. I was working yesterday at Lambeau. 45 F and partly sunny

Axelrod is going to have to shave his ‘Stach. LOL

Rather he shave his @$$ and walk backwards. That would be an improvement.

“it’s all about the Senate, and the associated “coattails” now...”

Correct, this is why ABC/CNN, etc continue to put out polls with a +9 Dem bias. They know if they report the truth(that Romney is up by 5-7%) that it will depress democrate voter turnout in many states such as NH, NV, MA. Then not only will the dems lose the Whitehouse, they lose the Senate and many govenor races. If dems in Mass don’t bother to show up and vote for Obama then Scott Brown may win.

Here in NH we have a very tight Govenor race and two tight US congressional races. They are predicting a record turnout(72 % of electorate). One to two percent either way and we could sweep or lose all three and the president.

This is what we are now fighting for. Obama is toast. Everyone knows it. He will move to Hawaii, write a book and make millions speaking at college campuses. Good riddance.

Tough call for pro-life voters in NH tomorrow...Bass vs. Kuster...both are ‘pro-death’.

He could raise millions for his favorite charity if he would let FReepers bid on the chance to shave it for him. I recommend Nair.

I don't want acceptance. I paid to see all five stages of liberal grief,

LOL! A little pent up frustration there, fellow FReeper? Don't worry, you're not alone! I, too, look forward to tomorrow night/early Wednesday when the media will be all aghast at their horrible loss and wondering what could possibly be wrong with the American people.

I plan on watching FOX but will switch every now and then to MSNBC to enjoy the panic and disbelief. I have plenty of popcorn, too!

BTW, anyone have DirecTV and know how to use the remote on the news feed channel? For the life of me, I can't figure it out. I thought there was a way I could select the channel to-go-to from that screen.

Both sides are getting weak in the knees. Both sides ready to blink.
Polls always, always tighten up and hedge their bets and then nobody is as certain as he was 24 hrs ago.

I just want it to be over.

“Why is Romney campaigning in Florida, a state that almost everyone on both sides has considered was in the bag for him?”

I believe he is in FL well after he has won the state in order to provide coattails for Connie Mack who has been lagging behind.

In VA, Romney needs Allen to win. Without a GOP controlled senate he cannot get his agenda past gorgon Reid.

I agree. Enough is enough already. This has gone on far too long & neither candidate has scored a KO. It has become all about taking our contribution money & giving it to crony ad agencies & other insider types. People like Karl Rove who otherwise make no physical contribution to the economy make a ton of money. I have no problem w/someone getting rich if they make a real contribution to our country but these phony political type jobs are out of control from the smallest to the largest govt. agencies.

“Andrea’s pock marks are coming into view...”

I never have understood why she doesn’t use a small trowel and some face spackle to plaster over those suckers while she’s on camera.

If it’s not in play then Romney has the dumbest campaign ever. I would think he’d be planted in other states other than PA and OH. Clearly there is a close margin in both because he’s been living in both places the last week.

IIRC, GWB thought he had FL in the bag, so he didn’t go back there just before the election, and we all know how that turned out. He won FL but it was a big damn fight.

So I think Romneys’ just making doubly sure.
