Palestinians despair over likely Netanyahu win

Palestinian officials largely view Benjamin Netanyahu’s expected re-election with despair, fearing the Israeli hard-liners’ ambitious plans for settlement construction over the next four years could prove lethal to their dreams of a state.

Some in Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ circle hold out hope that President Barack Obama will re-engage in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and, freed from domestic electoral considerations in his second term, get tougher with Netanyahu on settlements. One aide suggested Europe is ready to jump in with its own peace plan if Washington is not.

But short of trying to rally international opinion, it seems Abbas can do little if Netanyahu wins Tuesday.

Israeli polls indicate that a majority of seats in Israel’s 120-member parliament will go to right-wing, pro-settler or Jewish ultra-Orthodox religious parties, with Netanyahu’s Likud the largest among them. Netanyahu could comfortably form a coalition government with these parties, seen as his natural ideological allies. …

AP spews the neo-Nazi propaganda again. How dare those evil ZOGs Joooz fight for their lives, their land and their rights, yes? (Not like the “Palestinians” are really despairing; they’re chomping at the bit for the excuse to start Intifada Part Trois.)

If Palestinians are in despair and mourning, you know it’s a good day.

Not too familiar with Israeli politics.

Still trying to figure out why Americans hate their country bad enough to elect a Muslim President.

It does seem to me however that Netanyahu is a true Patriot.
Patriots are what is need in Israel, Just as we need them here, and they are sadly lacking in our Congress.

If the government is Likud Beteinu and Jewish Home, annexation of Judea and Samaria is not far behind. Fingers crossed.

Obammy, global community organizer in chief, has big “peace and safety” plans for Isreal. It would be nice if BiBi could rescuse Israel from the grips of the Muslim Brotherhood and their best pals in Europe and the US State Department...but unlikely.

Praying Bibi stands ground.

“Defiant Netanyahu set to confound critics”

“...Tensions with the US, Israel’s closest ally, were laid bare this week with leaked comments attributed to President Barack Obama warning that the expansion of settlements was driving the Jewish state towards “near-total isolation” and reportedly saying: “Israel doesn’t know what its own interests are.”

“No one decides for the citizens of Israel,” Mr Netanyahu later told the rightwing Israel Hayom newspaper in response to the remarks. “I think that President Obama knows that the ones determining Israel’s vital interests are the citizens of Israel, and they will be the ones to choose who will protect those interests in the best possible way.””

Saw it with my own eyes. Bibi was calling out to Abbas, we can get it done TODAY.

...as he chuckled to himself in the full knowledge it will NEVER happen, any more than Al Sharpton will proclaim we have finally achieved peace between the races.
