Eagles defensive end Trent Cole, a major hunting enthusiast, is snubbing a Pennsylvania sports expo because it has banned sales of certain rifles variously described as "modern sporting rifles," "tactical rifles" or "assault weapons."
Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, scheduled for Feb. 2 to 10 in Harrisburg, bills itself as "THE Sportsman Show," and was expected to draw about 200,000 visitors and feature 1,200 exhibitors.
Many sportsmen, however, seem to be upset that the show's organizers have failed to fully support the constitutional right to bear arms.
"Hordes of hunting industry manufacturers and TV personalities are thumbing their noses at one of the country's largest sports show promoters because the event is taking a hard stance on, among other things, modern sporting rifles," according to deeranddeerhunting.com.

I was going to make the trip to Harrisburg to enjoy what is usually a good show with lots to see and do and BUY. However I regretfully cannot set aside the time this year to make the 40 mile trip.
I know quite a few others who feel the same way.
If I lived in PA. I certainly would boycott it and make sure I told them why!!!
As a NY Giants fan I now might cheer one of his sacks of Eli !
Cabela’s is but one of many that have also bowed out of this show. I hope more decline to attend.
The (British) organizer’s facebook page is being completely dominated by negative comments.
“Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show”
It’s a beautiful thing.
Not only will I not go (I’s only an hour’s drive) but I will find a sponsor who has withdrawn, and buy something from them.
Pennsylvania’s 750,000 hunters are a force to be reckoned with.
Good grief, don't they know who their customers are and what we believe?
It won't surprise me if attendance is down by 25-30%.
If it is, the organizers will blame the economy, while gun show attendance is setting records everywhere in the Country.
I know it must sting in this age of Øbomination for businesses and entrepreneurs to walk away from opportunities to sell their wares but I hope the decline to attend as well. It will send a powerful message.
