Ok, my feeing is if they used Chem Weapons on their own people, or on any other people for that matter they need to be hit hard. The chips fall where they may.
I would error on the side of hitting them too hard instead of too soft.
I'm thinking Reagan would have already done it.
After noting the results of doing the same to Saddam, Mubarak (ok, just removal) and Gaddafi, how will it be any different and better this time?
I simply do not have faith in the current office holders to do anything other than double down on their errors, and that would be a an expensive (and extensive) mess, in blood and treasure.
There is no compelling reason to shed the former, and we're out of the latter.
Don’t forget sending them some “navigators” to help them get coverage under Obama Care.
Sincerely, Bill Clinton
I know but if the rebels win (with our help) those killings continue anyway. BTW, alawites are a sect of islam.
only if Kerry leads the invasion on a swift boat
How much you asking? Might not be a bad place to move to after our attack on Syria...
I can read better than you can spell genius. The consensus seems to bee about 125 nos to your 1 yes, so far. Pull your head out.
No kidding, Swamps are great places to live.
Do you know it was Assad?
“So the new standard is we allow use of WNDs?”
According to the MSM, a pressure cooker is now considered a WMD. Civil war in Syria is none of our business any more than it was in Rwanda. 100K killed and nary a peep, but a few hundred allegedly killed by gas and now all the hand wringing? Another vote here for Hell No!
Absolutely NO!
Therefore, we attack at 3AM...
Different target, same lies.
The first casualty of war is the the truth.
This situation is just another example of a US President going along with supporters to bolster their egos and personal intentions/popularity. I say the Syrian situation is a no go military hole. To those Muslims in the US wailing and baiting for USA citizens to die I say go back and do your own killing. I am a child of immigrants from a country that has seen many difficult and bloody conflicts and I say that country shouldn’t expect my sympathy or concern to the extent of deaths to any USA person. Past history shows there are plenty of people in the USA who believe differently than I do. So be it, let them go back and get into the fighting. I’ve had mine.
IF we are going to do anything...then do that.Only because it would affect Iran and Hezbollah.
Having said that...we had a possibility with Iraq, which was screwed when we allowed the sharia Law clause in the constitution and just left the place completely.
Removing Ghaddfai was stupid I agree. Removing Mubarak was stupid, but we really didn’t have much say so in that one at all.
The only way to effectively end all this Mideast BS is something we will never do: Go into Suadi Arabia, take the oil and let them have their sharia dictator....tell Russia and China we will sell them Saudi oil for 25cents on the dollar ( and they will take that deal).
WE make money off the oil, we have enough oil, we pay off our deficit, we build up our military and the Islamofascists have no money to attack us and hopefully go back to their caves. all that assumes we want to be a superpower.
Until then, we are so screwed.
BTW, this was a retired military officer’s idea, not mine.
Absolutely NO!!!
My reasons
1. There are too many conflicting stories as to who actually gassed these people. I am sorry but not our problem.
2. It is not in our interest to do so.
3. The risk of unleashing a full out war which would undoubtedly involve Russia and Iran on the side of the Syrian army. Also it may unleash attacks on Israel.
3. These are not rebels. These are TERRORISTS! They would not think twice killing anyone of us or our military personell.
You can’t say “ass” on FR.
