Was Ted Kennedy a Terrorist? Obama, Nixon and the debt threat.
Wall Street Journal ^ | September 27, 2013 | James Taranto

Political rhetoric in Washington is heating up, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says humans are to blame. We're just kidding about the IPCC, but blaming "humans" generally would come closer to the truth than what we've been hearing from the White House and its supporters in the media, who are attempting to cast all blame on their antagonists.

As the "government shutdown" crisis moves toward a resolution, another "debt limit" crisis quickly approaches. With the federal government nearing the statutory maximum amount of public debt, House Republican leaders plan to use the need to increase the limit as leverage to extract policy concessions from Senate Democrats and President Obama. The Christian Science Monitor describes the GOP wish list:

House Speaker John Boehner said Thursday he would agree to raise the nation's debt ceiling before the federal government hits its credit limit on Oct. 17, but only if Democrats agree to delay implementation of Obamacare for one year.

Though still in the formative stage, the House GOP's debt bill right now would also authorize construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, permit more energy exploration on federal lands, block federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions, establish a timeline for comprehensive tax reform, limit medical malpractice suits, and raise the cost of Medicare for wealthier Americans...

Teddy Boy was a coward, a liar, a fraud, a drunk, a philandering womanizer, and a commie pig. But most of all, that ba!!ess wonder was a murderer.

Hope he's met Mary Jo since, hope she controls what punishment he gets in the hell he's in.

A despicable POS if ever there was one.

The demonizing political rhetoric is not aimed at the politicians being demonized. It is not for the informed voter. It is for the low information Democratic “base” voter. It’s aimed at the 40% of the taker pubic who get their information from the Communist News Network, National Public Radio, ABC, NBC and MSNBC.

Add d@mn traitor to that list. Swimmer contacted the KGB in 1982 for help with the “nuclear freeze”. Hated Reagan & trusted the Soviets.

Perpetual p***guard around his Arlington plot.

But it would be ludicrous to suggest that Kennedy was a terrorist.

Maybe, but it is without a doubt that Kennedy was a drunken perverted Communist.

@ “The Cid,”

Thanks, I FORGOT about that one! And I usually don’t forget a treasonous pig’s criminal actions so readily!

But with the “Kennedy Kriminal Korporation,” there is just so much “there” there, one can easily be overwhelmed.

BTW, still till today, you buy a bottle of “Scotch” from Ireland, you pay a royalty to the Korporation.

Pretty much sums up any of the Kennedys including his brothers and father.

In response, Time.com notes, the White House "compared the GOP to terrorists": "We are for cutting spending. We are for reforming out tax codes, reforming out entitlements," [Obama aide Dan] Pfeiffer told Jake Tapper. "What we're not for is negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest. We're not going to do that." President Barack Obama and aides have repeatedly called out Republicans for attempt to "extort" and "blackmail" the administration into cutting funding for the Affordable Care Act as part of a deal to keep the government funded into October. But the metaphors have rarely broached the boundaries of terrorism.

Was Ted Kennedy a Terrorist?

What difference, at this point, does it make?

TK was a fat, obnoxious boor who lived way too long.

Let’s not forget that it was HE who foisted upon the People of this nation, that damnable gun act in 1968!

Perfect summation. The good news is that Ted's still dead.

Good to know about Scotch from Ireland (does that include Jameson’s?), but the Lord has so ordained my life that only good Kentucky bourbon doth satisfy my palate.

All those whom I know who drink Scotch prefer Dewar’s. That includes my 93 years young Mom.

What few people will grasp about Ted Kennedy...is that about a year into the Carter Administration....Ted basically shut the door on their agenda and declared Jimmy Carter a fraud to the Democratic Party and Ted’s agenda.

In an amusing way, whatever gains that Carter had....came from the first twelve months, and then the momentum came to a closure.

After three years...Ted decides to run for the Presidency against Carter, and mounts a valid campaign...forcing Carter to defend his programs and spend funds. Reagan can stand and say his debate moment was four-star....but Carter was severely weakened by that point with Kennedy’s whole campaign.

There was bad blood for years between Carter and Kennedy. I don’t think the two ever discussed the matter in public.

Hummmm --- If it comes from Ireland, it isn't "Scotch."

LOL,

My granma was Scot, from the McGlade clan, born in Dublin, sent to America.

Is she Irish? Or Scot?

She ended up in America, and didn’t pay the Kennedy’s a “royalty.”

That probably made her a criminal!!!

Lots of “Scotch” is distilled in Ireland. Its a recipe, not a nationality.

Not so.

Scotch whisky, often simply called "Scotch", is malt whisky or grain whisky made in Scotland. Scotch whisky must be made in a manner specified by law.

Source: Scotch Whiskey

Ireland has Irish Whiskey and by regulation and international agreements, is only made in Ireland, just as Scotch is only made in Scotland.

You may be able to make something that tastes like Scotch in other places, but you can't call it Scotch, just as California wineries can't call their sparkling wines Champagne. That name is legally reserved for wines from the Champagne region of France.
