(vanity) Counting down to new KEIB 1150 Los Angeles
1150 Patriot ^ | 12/30/13 | raccoonradio

Posted on 12/30/2013 7:06:42 AM PST by raccoonradio

The website for progressive talk KTLK AM 1150 in Los Angeles now redirects to a countdown clock, for in a couple days they will become 1150 The Patriot with conservative talk. The new call letters will be KEIB, as in Excellence in Broadcasting. They'll have Glenn Beck (6a), Rush Limbaugh (9a), Sean Hannity (noon) etc. Clear Channel is making KFI 640 in a local-talk type of operation.

Progressive talk is now in tatters as they will lost stations in NY, LA, and San Fran. The NY station is WWRL AM 1600, which will switch to Spanish language programming. Also WOR 710 (Clear Channel owned) will pick up Rush, Sean, the Mets, etc. (Still no word on who the 12-3 host on WABC 660, owned by Cumulus, will be.)

It was said earlier in the month by Radio Insight that: "In San Francisco, Limbaugh will move from 910 KKSF to 960 KNEW. KNEW will drop its mix of Liberal, Business, and Advice hosts to go all Conservative Talk branded as “Right Radio“. Sean Hannity will move to KNEW as well from Cumulus’ 560 KSFO, while Glenn Beck will remain in mornings.

The Vast Right Wing conspiracy moves on. Again, conservative talk winds up on The Patriot KEIB AM 1150 in L.A. and 960 KNEW San Fran, and as libtalk disappears from WWRL 1600 NYC, Rush and Sean move down the dial from 770 WABC to 710 WOR.

Countdown clock seems to be counting down to midnight _EST_ on early Jan 2 (2 days, 7 hrs etc) unless somehow the site is just showing the time to “local midnight” where you are (I’m in Boston myself)...whatever

Yes, they are also 50000 watts during the day, but the pattern is pointed toward the ocean.

KFI can be heard in Idaho at night....KTLK can barely be heard in the San Fernando Valley. There were so many complaints during the LA Kings run in the Stanley Cup they simulcasted the broadcast on 570 to please the audience.

It’s due to start soon.
From their facebook:
Carlos Amezcua joins the lineup of the The Patriot AM-1150 beginning January 2nd! Listen live from 3-6 p.m.

Again the countdown clock is down to less than 2 hours, but that’s midnight here in eastern time zone; am I to believe that it debuts at 9 pm PT? maybe more like mid out west

Rush will simulcast on KFI and KEIB for a month. After February 1 he will only be on KEIB.

Now that it’s January 23rd, it’s not just KFI that’s going to be the loser. Rush Limbaugh is going to lose out, too.

I can barely hear KEIB on my home radios, and I live in L.A. - not on the fringe, but right in the middle. Can’t really hear it in my car, either, so if I’m out and about during Rush, I won’t be listening to him.

I’ve been attempting to listen on my computer at home, but it’s screw up after screw up. This morning - 15 minutes of straight commercials from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m., followed by 3 minutes of Rush and then more commercials.

I’m calling it KIB now, because there is no “E” at all.

Good thing I have Audible.

Or try TuneIn.com on your comp or smartphone (are you listening on the station’s site?) which may be more reliable...or maybe they’ll reconsider and put him and him only back on KFI.
