Today Mississippi Representative Omeria Scott (D-District 80) introduced House Bill 231. In her bill she proposes that anyone who sells ammunition in the State of Mississippi be required to keep records of each sale. If passed,
every merchant, dealer or pawnbroker that sells pistol or rifle cartridges, shall keep a record of all sales of such cartridges sold, showing the description of the kind and caliber of cartridges so sold, the name, address and drivers license or social security number of the purchaser, and the description of and the quantity of cartridges and date of sale.
These records, which include social security number, name and address would be open to public inspection at any time to persons desiring to see it.
Representative Scott must not be concerned about her constituents privacy since she wants to publish everyones SSN, name and address. These folks like Rep. Scott and Sen. Jackson II do nothing but harm the State of Mississippi and its citizens.
The fight for freedom and liberty never ends, those who are seeking power and authority over us are always working to gain more power and influence and to take away liberty and freedom.
Contact your elected representatives and let them know you expect them to fight against this bill and any similar bills.
There is a link at the above URL to allow Mississippi residents to contact their legislators to FIGHT this proposed bill.
**** her too. Not going anywhere.
Absolutely! They are more like the Founders than republicans today.
She worships satan.
She probably can’t read and/or own a computer... I gathered this by watching a short interview of her this morning. She has a hard time breathing and staying vertical... much less forming cogent thought.
Yeah like that’s going to go anywhere.
“Can someone inform us of what are the chances of such a bill being enacted. Close to zero, I would think.”
Probably less than zero. The State Senate and House are controlled by Republicans who have passed and defended Second Amendment legislation in the last session, they passed open carry. I received an e-mail press release, open letter from Governor Bryant and Speaker Gunn this morning and the governor says he will veto any such legislation if it were to possibly get passed and Speaker Gunn says it won’t pass. I believe this lady is stirring the pot and establishing her liberal, progressive creds.
Yesterday I said it didn’t have a chance in a warm place to pass. I live in Mississippi and know the Governor and other statewide leaders. This is his position on the front page.
“I will not stand by and allow gun owner rights to be trampled in this state, and I will immediately veto such bills.” Phil Bryant, Governor
