The word Taliban means...
Vanity | '16-Dec-2014 | Ron Pickrell

Posted on 12/16/2014 10:35:03 AM PST by pickrell

For what it's worth, the Taliban kill 126 children, claiming that education is poison.

In a related note, the very word Taliban comes from the root word Talib, meaning student. They were created in schools, armed themselves with the certainty that they therefore understood everything, and formed the organization "The students".

The only reason I post this is that I haven't seen this remarked upon yet. With such astonishing hipocrisy, it must be that the Taliban are an offshoot of progressivism.

The only “education” the Taliban approve of is what is taught in madrassas. Not for girls, of course.

Pure memorization of the koran. Its a far cry from education.

Seems to be an awakening of sorts to the elements of our enemies and the whys and reasons for who and what they are these days.

Just the other day I mulled over (again) the meaning to islam, .. submit ... and became nauseous.

Thanx ... I appreciate your posting the definition of taliban

That’s why I put “education” in scare quotes.

Boko Haram’s name is also in opposition to “Western” education.

Osama referred to the 19 hijackers of 9-11 as students.

Exactly. There is little interest in things like math or science. Its a pure religious “education”.

The scary thing is a turn toward a purely leftist ideological education here. Acceptance of things like global warming and homosexuality are a goal.

“the Taliban are an offshoot of progressivism “

The Taliban are the natural end state of fascist progressivism.

Feinstein would have us believe that gun-free zone schools are really safe.

Feinstein would have us believe that gun control laws prevent school massacres in Afghanistan.

They definitely are. One of the things not discussed in the recent “disappearance” of the Mexican students, for example, is that the students had actually hijacked the buses in which they were riding on their way to attack a city.

While it may not have been a good response to attempt to kidnap and quietly kill them all, I can fully understand why the local police were not sorry to see them go. They probably didn’t do it, but probably didn’t intervene, either.

Needless to say, the US is behind the “students,” who are radical leftwingers from prosperous families and, in addition, funded by Mexican government stipends for students.

I would assume the same is true in Pakistan. The Taliban were students, mostly leftists who took up Islam as a cause (as our leftists are doing). The US did not create the Taliban, but did encourage the initial movement to push back against the Soviets. And then, because we are so clueless and will not admit that Islam is a problem, Frankenstein’s monster began to grow.

I still want to know if any of the five Taliban detainees Bambi traded for the release of Bergdahl were involved in this.

Love that 7th-century weaponry. Imagine the Vikings getting hold of such technology in the 8th century.

“...claiming that education is poison.”

Whoa, getting pretty close to home.

The literal translation of Taliban is: Throw acid on young schoolgirls.
