Inexperienced green officer vs experienced combat soldier.

Possibly but the officer was definitely not willing to kill another individual and suffered the ultimate consequence.

As far as the "experienced combat soldier", there was nothing in his actions that showed me he was a combat soldier. Every action he did was nothing more than what a crazy individual would have done if they had an unloaded M-1 carbine in their truck and an inexperienced LEO trying to detain him when such LEO had every opportunity to shoot the SOB..............

Exactly. Most of these types were supply clerks at Long Binh, because, regardless of MOS, experienced NCO's recognized a nutter when they saw one and they were sent back to some cushy job in the rear. In later years, these same nutters claimed to have been traumatized by the experience. Nonsense.
