Year after year, Louisiana didn't have enough money to cover its expenses, yet Gov. Bobby Jindal refused to roll back income tax cuts or ever-increasing corporate tax breaks. Instead, he raided reserve funds and sold off state property.
...The governor has successfully trimmed some spending by cutting more than 30,000 full-time state employees. He's reduced the state's vehicle fleet, privatized much of the Medicaid program, turned over the state's charity hospitals to outside managers and looked for ways to make state government more efficient.
That hasn't closed all the gaps, however, and Jindal's short-term solutions leave a string of debts for Louisiana's next governor to pay off.

Hey, the AP finally writes an article about how government spends too much, although they portray it as "refusing" to get rid of tax breaks in order to cover "expenses," as if its a mortgage payment or food or medical bills. Gotta love that propaganda.
I'm waiting for the next article: Year after, the United States didn't have enough money to cover its spending, but Obama and Congress refused to cut spending.
Send the authorities to go look in the freezer of every Democrat in Louisiana politics. William Jefferson was probably not the only one with a stash hidden in his freezer.
As late as February 2012, so-called Katrina victims were occupying FEMA trailers. FEMA forced to recall them and dispose because of formaldehyde claims, etc.
The entitlement population of N.O. was dispersed to multiple states throughout the south. I saw an out of date LA tag and Katrina occupant just last year.
Katrina is the entitlement gift that keeps on giving. Still
Now we know who the leftists are scared of. That was easy now wasn’t it...
The oil market isn’t helping them any at this time.

Moodys might downgrade Louisianas credit rating for 3 main reasons
An influential New York rating service told Louisiana fiscal officers Wednesday morning
that it would decide and perhaps as early as next week whether to lower the states credit rating.
The officials at Moodys Investors Service were concerned about the way the state had
structured its budget, the drop in the price of oil and the decline in revenues, said State
Treasurer John N. Kennedy.
A lower rating would make investors less willing to purchase Louisianas bonds, which
would increase the cost of borrowing for state construction and other projects.
Kennedy, Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols, House Appropriations Committee
Chairman Jim Fannin, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Jack Donahue, Lela M. Folse,
director of the State Bond Commission, and Renee Boicourt. the Bond Commissions financial
adviser, were on the 8 a.m. call.
Moodys said only two options are on the table: downgrade the credit rating or affirm
the rating for a period of time to get Louisianas fiscal house in order.

No snarky tone on this tweet, however, when Hitlery was trying to forcefeed Mary Landrieu down the throats of Louisiana's citizens:
http://www.marylandrieu.com/news/Hillary-Clinton-Comes-To-New-Orleans.html
Notice how this article implies praise for Hitlery and notes how Cassidy's ability to get conservative votes is "evident"...
For the record, Cassidy crushed Landrieu 56% to 44%.
It seems to me that Jindal needs more time in office. I didn’t think the mess he inherited was as fixable as it has been so far.

Sounds like a helluva good plan to me.
Per Poltics1.com, poll out in LA from “Triumph Campaigns” (never heard of them, they have no website and a dead twitter feed)
https://tomaswell.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/march-6-poll.pdf
Governor:
David Vitter (R) 35%, John Bel Edwards (D) 33%, Jay Dardenne (R) 15%, Scott Angelle (R) 7%.
LT Governor :
Kip Holden (D) 33%, Billy Nungesser (R) 23%, John Young (R) 20%, Elbert Guillory (R) 2%.
That’s a very poor showing for Guillory.
AG:
Buddy Caldwell (R. inc) 30%, Jacques (it says “Jacque”) Roy (D) 30%, Jeff Landry (R) 20%
Guillroy needs to be on a national stage. The RNC is stupid for not using him to reach more black voters.
We see in the poll that you have 33% that will vote for the Dem nominee, even if it was Mickey Mouse. Polling I saw some time ago showed Vitter and Dardenne competitive with each other.
The danger is that if we end up having a runoff between a Conservative and a RINO, the Establishment wing and the Democrats will combine forces to elect the RINO.
With respect to the Lt Gov race, Billy Nungesser came very close to beating Jay Dardenne in 2011, so he may have the highest name recognition (despite hailing from tiny Plaquemines Parish). Young is from populous Jefferson Parish where he is the Parish President.
Guillory may be popular with us, but he may not be considered viable with party voters, unfortunately. He’s also 71 this year, which places him as the oldest candidate. I’m loathe to bring it up, but race might be a factor (clearly there are some people that won’t vote for a Black person for whatever reason). I wish he was getting what Mayor Kip Holden (the Black Baton Rouge Democrat) is, and Holden is less than a decade younger than Guillory, but looks even younger.
Voters might be considering the person to succeed Vitter (or Dardenne) in 2023 for Lt Governor, so they would wish to go with a younger candidate. Another alternative is that Vitter appoints Guillory to his Senate seat, about as audacious as Gov. Nikki Haley appointing Tim Scott to DeMint’s seat. It would give him time as an incumbent to establish himself with the voters. Despite his age, it is worth pointing out both Guillory’s parents lived to about 100 (and his mother was still alive as of 2013 at 104), which means as long as he has his faculties, could serve at least a dozen years in DC (until 2029, the end of Vitter’s term plus 12 years) when he’d be just short of 85.
Although I prefer younger Senate candidates, in the case of exceptional older individuals, I can support them.
They’ve got a long record of failure to utilize talented Black Conservatives.
Jindal inherited a balanced budget from Mrs. Blanco.
Nungesser has moved to Lafayette Parish and is no longer Plaquemines Parish president.
Rep. John Fleming has endorsed Jeff Landry, a surprise.
Kip Holden looks like the Chicago journalist Clarence Page, right?
As I’m sure you know, Attorney General is generally a dead-end position in LA. It’s curious Landry would opt to run for it. He’d make an excellent Senator if Vitter chose to appoint him.
