Trump defends inflammatory comments, asks 'Who is doing the raping?'
CNN ^ | 7/1/15 | Eugene Scott

Posted on 07/01/2015 7:29:19 PM PDT by jimbo123

Businessman Donald Trump continued his verbal attack against illegal immigrants on Wednesday, in an exclusive interview set to air at 10 p.m. on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon.

He has stirred up controversy in recent days for claiming "rapists" and "killers" are migrating over the United States' southern border. Univision and NBC Universal have cut ties with the businessman, refusing to air the "Miss Universe" pageant he partially owns as a result, and Macy's announced Wednesday it was also discontinuing his clothing line.

On Wednesday, Trump, who is a Republican presidential candidate, told Lemon he was pulling his facts from a Fusion article.

"Well if you look at the statistics of people coming, you look at the statistics on rape, on crime, on everything coming in illegally into this country it's mind-boggling!" he told Lemon, in a clip previewed on CNN's "Situation Room."

-snip-

He told Lemon he is surprised only that he's trailing Jeb Bush, not that he's doing so well.

"I don't get it. He's in favor of Common Core, extremely weak on immigration. He thinks people come over for love. I don't understand why he's in first place," Trump said. "Maybe it's the Bush name. Last thing we need is another Bush. But I will tell you, I'm a little surprised he's in the position he's in."

I wonder when the journalists will figure out that:

a) Trump doesn't back down
b) Voters like Trump more when they realize that he doesn't back down.

When a) and b) are in effect, the game of Gotcha Journalism falls apart. So -- what's their Plan B?

With you and all the other guys splitting up the vote and the media attention, its no wonder Bush is in the lead.

Is that the way it was planned? To flood the campaign with candidates and controversy to prevent any conservative challenge to Bush from succeeding....

Another note. Trump is taking a beating from the corporate elites for saying what the First Amendment says he’s entitled to say.

THE BIG ELITE CORPORATE COMPANIES, BIG BANKS ETC. ARE THE GREATEST ENEMIES OF FREEDOM AND THE GREATEST ENEMIES OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE AS WE PREPARE TO REMEMBER OUR DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.

Let’s hear from the msm’s ‘champions of women’ - everyone from Megyn Kelly (or is she the champion of LGBT?), Nancy Grace, Katie Couric, Erin Burnett, NOW, and many others.

Is The Donald right or wrong about the rapes? Let’s hear it - if he’s right it needs to be taken care of; all of the above should strongly agree(but it appears doubtful). Or if Trump is wrong and girls and women are not getting raped then set the record straight.

The hypocrisy from most of the msm is coming through loud and clear.

Their plan B is to ignore him but it’s hard to do because he gets good ratings.

Several things ought to be noted.

1) Trump is not saying all Mexicans who come here commit crimes. He is saying MANY of those who come here commit crimes.

This is what the media, Macy’s, Univision and Geraldo fail to distinguish.

2) AS the Daily Caller notes:

Trump said: “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

The first thing a news fact-checker would have noticed is: THE GOVERNMENT WON’T TELL US HOW MANY IMMIGRANTS ARE COMMITTING CRIMES IN AMERICA.

Wouldn’t that make any person of average intelligence suspicious? Not our media. They’re in on the cover-up.

3) Instead of counting the immigrant stock filling up our prisons, the government issues a series of comical reports claiming to tally immigrant crime.

The Department of Justice relies on immigrants’ self-reports of their citizenship. The U.S. census simply guesses the immigration status of inmates. The Government Accounting Office conducts its own analysis of Bureau of Prisons data.

In other words, the government hasn’t the first idea how many prisoners are legal immigrants, illegal immigrants or anchor babies.

4) We can surmise from the prison population as the ETHNICITY and the BACKGROUND of those who are there as to how many are illegals.

A casual perusal of the “Most Wanted” lists also suggests that the government may not have our best interests in mind when deciding who gets to live in America.

Here is the Los Angeles Police Department’s list of “Most Wanted” criminal suspects:

— Jesse Enrique Monarrez (murder),

— Cesar Augusto Nistal (child molestation),

— Jose A. Padilla (murder),

— Demecio Carlos Perez (murder),

— Ramon Reyes, (robbery and murder),

— Victor Vargas (murder),

— Ruben Villa (murder)

The full “Most Wanted” list doesn’t get any better.

There aren’t a lot of Mexicans in New York state — half of all Mexican immigrants in the U.S. live in either Texas or California — and yet there are more Mexican prisoners in New York than there are inmates from all of Western Europe.

If the media were doing their job, they could CHECK the immigration background of these Mexicans.

"Is that the way it was planned?"

Are you saying it's Trump's fault there are a dozen other jerkwads in the race, all with little to no chance?

I’m blaming the whole herd of candidates in this race.

When Cruz announced first, he warned of all the pretenders that would follow in his wake.

I buy that.

Trump should be free to say what he wants to say, but a guy who has given most of his political gifts to Dems and is rich, should be questioned.

The rich people in my town and everywhere end up supporting business as usual “moderate” D and R politicians. They do it for the stability of their wealth and business interests.

Is Trump in it to help established politicians or challenge established politicans?

In other words is Trump putting on a stage show to suck the air out of conservative challengers and or demonize Bush so badly he will be damaged goods and easy pickings for Hillary in the general election????????

I get it.

You're of the opinion that once Cruz announced, nobody should challenge him.

Cruz issued an appropriate warning about people following him who would claim to be great conservatives with checkered pasts. And how many have come since.............................................

“illegal immigrants” They aren’t “immigrants” any more than burglars are uninvited guests.

For the one-millionth time: “undocumented immigrants” is a euphemism, or a way of describing something unpleasant in a politically correct way.
You can ‘split the difference’ by calling them immigrants, but that’s gutless and stupid.
So let’s agree that immigrants must satisfy our immigration and naturalization laws in order to deserve that title “immigrants”. If we do that, then the words “illegal immigrants” are nonsensical—an oxymoron.

Let’s call them what they are. Foreigners here in violation of our immigration laws are illegal aliens.
Don’t let Democrats and the GOP-e define the argument and continue to insist that: ‘Dogs have five legs’.
As Lincoln put it, “Calling a dog’s tail a leg don’t make it a leg.”
Or, as a cantankerous conservative replied to Patches Kennedy, who was insisting that some fact was so (”The moon is upside down”) when it was not:
“Just because you say it’s so don’t make it so!”

Trump is right. They are criminals. When central Americans do in Mexico what Mexicans do here, Mexico jails them because Mexico treats them as they deserve to be treated: as trespassing illegal aliens.
Criminals.
Next time you hear someone make Mexico’s
“We’re outraged at the treatment of Mexican immigrants in los Estados Unidos ... “
just laugh out loud.

Ann Coulter on the Trump controversy:

“The idea that immigrants are creating crime at a lower rate than the native population is preposterous,” she said, “My complaint … was that the government won’t simply count and tell us, so whatever facts there are it’s always people looking at ancillary facts.”

I agree. I have tried to pry out statistics from government information myself. I wanted to find out the population growth rate for different racial groups. I wanted to know what the population distribution would be in 2030, if the growth rates were the same as today’s. That was almost a no go, until I found one obscure table. It told me the government is not giving out the numbers, even though they spend billions of our money running census surveys.

“demonize Bush so badly he will be damaged goods and easy pickings for Hillary in the general election”

There’s no way Bush is going to win against Clinton... If Trump demonizes Bush to the point that Bush is not our candidate, he has done us a great service. (IMHO)

If Cruse or Walker can take it that would be great. But I’d take Trump over any of the rest.
