I’m not a McCain fan but he was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Silver Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
It’s a shame our old pal Kenny Bunk is no longer with us to entertain us with his creative descriptions of John McCain.

The Distinguished Flying Cross was given to him for being shot down in battle. The Silver Star was given him for being beaten by his captors. For resisting “extreme mental and physical cruelties” inflicted upon him by his captors. Any tortured POW would have been given the same medal.
