Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump leads rival Marco Rubio in the senator's home state of Florida by 20 points, according to a News 13/Bay News 9 poll released Tuesday.
Trump takes 42 percent of the vote, with Rubio receiving 22 percent, according to the statewide poll. Texas senator Ted Cruz receives 17 percent support.
The results stand in contrast to a Monmouth University poll released Monday that showed Rubio cutting Trump's lead in Florida to single digits. Trump took 38 percent of the vote in that poll, with Rubio receiving 30 percent support. Rubio also led the front-runner among voters who have already cast their ballots, while Trump led among those who have not yet voted.
The News 13/Bay News 9 poll, however, is in line with several surveys taken last month that show Trump with a double-digit lead over Rubio in Florida, which has 99 delegates at stake in its primary on March 15.
According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls in the state, Trump has a 16-point lead over Rubio, 42.3 to 26.3 percent. Cruz has 14 percent, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich takes 8.8 percent of the vote.
Last Saturday, Rubio declined to say whether he'd drop out of the presidential race if he loses the Florida primary.
The News 13/Bay News 9 poll of 937 likely and actual GOP presidential primary voters, conducted from March 4 to 6, has a margin of error of 3.3 percent.

Billionaire Backs Trump After Shocking Surprise DailyCaller
It's a great story!
Thanks, it is a great story.
Amen
I almost feel guilty for smiling at Rubio getting crushed at home.
He should leave the race before it happens. He should have left after last week...
I wonder if it’s been trump’s bribes that have kept him the race this long.
Either way - Step aside Marco, this boat wont float.
“If Trump gets in the white house ten she will be by far the most beautiful first lady the white house has ever seen.”
Truth.
But then we’ve seen a whole lot more of this one than we did any other.
Calling B.S. on this poll...which is meant to lower expectations for Little Marco
This will kill the uniparty which is airing mega smear ads agains’t Trump in Fl. Reminiscent of Romney smearing Newt in Fl in 2012. Go Trump!
never see enough of her unlike bozo wife
I hope this is accurate; I saw a poll this morning that said senor Amnesty, Little Marco, was within single digits of Trump. All the bashing from the GOPe and RINOs is bound to take a toll.
Ditto
Even if Trump wins by 10% or by 5% Trump still gets all 99 delegates shutting out the others. The proportional states and caucus state are starting to fall to the wayside that has propped everyone other candidate but Trump up.
Furthermore, Trump has won every single RCP listed Florida poll since early August eclipsing Bush, which is almost 30 polls conducted. That’s a 100% winning streak since August for Trump.
“Rubio declined to say whether he’d drop out of the presidential race if he loses the Florida primary.”....
When and if Lil Marco does drop out, I would expect that SOME of his voters will split away and gravitate toward Trump. Cruz has a way of pissing people off and during the run up to today, there hasn’t been a lot of love between Cruz and Rubio and SOME of Rubio’s people will look for another candidate and it won’t be Hitlary.

If Rubio loses in Florida, he should get out. If he finishes third, he’ll be humiliated.
“If Rubio loses in Florida, he should get out. If he finishes third, hell be humiliated.”
No doubt. Rubio tried to do it to Cruz in Texas and failed miserably. Cruz is returning the favor in Florida.
Excellent post!
