Neil Gorsuch’s mother once ran the EPA. It didn’t go well.

Neil Gorsuch is the first member of his family chosen for a seat on the Supreme Court, but he isn’t the only Gorsuch nominated by a U.S. president to a key government post.

His mother, Anne Gorsuch, served as President Ronald Reagan’s first Environmental Protection Agency administrator and the first female leader in the agency’s history. But her short, tumultuous tenure was marked by sharp budget cuts, rifts with career EPA employees, a steep decline in cases filed against polluters and a scandal over the mismanagement of the Superfund cleanup program that ultimately led to her resignation in 1983.

Anne Gorsuch — like Reagan then and President Trump today — was a firm believer that the federal government was too big, too powerful and too eager to issue regulations that restricted businesses.

As a result, she slashed the EPA’s budget by nearly a quarter and, according to a Washington Post story at the time, boasted that she had reduced the thickness of the book of clean water regulations from six inches to a half inch.

Yeah, what’s up, WaPo is saying that like it’s bad thing.

I hope the federal version of the EPA is reduced to under 400 employees with the mandate of fighting pollution makers and other things the EPA might be involved in is returned to the 50 states where it belongs. At some point it could even be reduced to under 50 employees once the states have their programs bolstered. They should all already have some version of the EPA in place so it wouldn’t be like they would be starting from scratch.

I see a great savings for the US gov and bringing down the deficit then ultimately the debt.

In that the democrat party has become the “Down with America” enemy islamist Party, I doubt that less and less.

I wonder if the Dems will try to drag the issues surrounding Gorsuch’s mother and the EPA into the nomination hearings.

Sounds to me like she did an amazing amount of fabulous work in a very short period of time.

Neil Gorsuch’s mother once ran the EPA. It didn’t go well.

And that has nothing to do with the price of tea in China regarding Gorsuch's suitability for the USSC.

What a shameful attempt at smearing this man, using an un-American and repudiated notion of "guilt by relation".

This is one of the lowest, most despicable tactics that can be used on any person, typically only resorted to when a party has no valid argument in defense of their position, and lacks the character to concede the point.

Such, newsflash: the WP is the scum of the earth. Who'd have guessed.

The Washington Post and the NY Times are the "CNN" of newspapers...

...rifts with career EPA employees,...

What types make a career of EPA employment? That explains the rifts in question. Radical enviros just don't get along with normal folks.

The way to do this is to go to the Twitter post(s) by the author of this article and Tweet this:

They're behind an email address wall now.

It would be good to taunt them with their own irrelevance on Twitter.
