Over the past week the hysteria on the right and among some weak-kneed Trumpers has been over the top. Even Rush Limbaugh began to wiggle uncomfortably, fearing Trump did know what he was up against, and hadn't moved fast enough to deal with the "silent coup" against him.
Jeff Sessions' recusal supposedly showed that Trump, like all the rest of the Republicans, didn't know how to play hardball.
Ooops.
I can always tell when something big is about to happen at Team Trump when my contact messages aren't returned. And I'm always pleasantly surprised that Team Trump is one to a dozen steps ahead of anything I'm thinking.
Case in point: yesterday I drafted a memo urging Trump to go on offense against the Democrats, specifically the Congressional rats. And as usual, I'm thinking of building a bowling alley while Trump is envisioning a gleaming skyscraper.
Today Trump's offensive began. But only after cleverly baiting the hook, luring the enemy Cannae-style into an envelope from which there is no escape.
He didn't fight back against the guys in the ring. He went after their manager, their coach, and their funder-in-chief. Trump went after the head of the snake.
By Tweeting that Trump Tower and his personal residence were bugged---and apparently the evidence of such a wiretap approval exists---Trump again shows why he plays 3D chess and his enemies are playing Parcheesi. The Bible says it this way: "They will come at you one way and go away fleeing seven."
Other than the fact that this is OBAMA he is going after, the juciest part is that Sessions did NOT recuse himself from a wiretap investigation of Obama. Get it?
Trump just leapfrogged the whole Russia thing with an "It ends today." Now Team Trump has leverage to force a full and total standdown of all opposition to Trump inside Congress, all end to the disruptions, and meek and timid confirmation of all appointees. Or Zero goes to jail. That simple.
Many here will want blood. But I'm reminded of Sam Houston after he defeated Santa Anna at San Jacinto. Instead of hanging the dictator, he merely took all of the American Southwest. Santa Anna was out soon anyway, but we still have Phoenix, Denver, and (unfortunately) California. It will be a negotiation from strength, and the Dems will have no choice but to comply. They won't completely give up---there will be surreptitious acts with enough deniability---but this was a perfectly baited hook that all of Trump's enemies just walked into.

The Fox Saturday JV team is much worse than the weekday crew.

It seems to me that Trump should have held a news conference over this.
Im not usually prone to hand wringing but I have a bad feeling about this.
The media will portray Trump as just becoming unhinged.

No new press pool reports since 9:43 AM (EST) this morning. He’s been holed up in the Palm Beach library since then meeting with unknown people. This has me quite curious, especially since the big NSC meeting is set for today at 4:00.

Above quote is from a poster on Conservative Treehouse. I think this is an astute observation.
When did we first hear that Texas was in play? Thaty would be the confirmation to Team Trump that the tower was bugged and the info was being fed to the media and the Clinton campaign. (This also might explain why she didn't go to Wiscnsin to campaign. HA! This also explains why they were so absolutely sure they would win, and why they were dumbfounded when they didn't.)
If they were positive Hillary would win, they must have been in a total panic after November8. This explains the calling up of the mobs, the stupid Green party recounts, the efforts to turn the electoral college, etc. etc.
Behind the scenes Obama had people shredding documents, erasing servers, and setting all sorts of booby traps. Trump calmly proceeded with the transition, complimenting Obama on his niceness along the way. But Trump is not naive, and he was paying attention.
As soon as he got into office, he had a meeting with Comey. Tapper and Brennan were out. Pompeo took over CIA. And looky here, Admiral Rogers, who went to New York on November 17 and met with Trump (without notifying his superiors) is still in place. Gee, could he have told Trump something?
Also, how much of this is that oaf Ben Rhodes' idea and did he illegally share info with his brother, who runs CBS? And what would happen to CBS?
But wait, there's more! Can the innocent, non-political tenants and businesses of Trump Tower sue Obama? How much of that $60 million book contract do you think they could get?

Maybe I over-simplified. I meant that Democrats cease firing, and Trump stops investigating them. That's the trade you proposed. Cease-fires have a history of being broken eventually.

Didn't read your comment carefully until just now. I thought you were talking about the recent stories of chaos in the Trump administration. But indeed it sounds like they were already on the same page back then preparing to attack Trump if he revealed the wiretapping. If he knew then and waited until now to tweet, that's smart. Big league smart!

And the response will come from the media that “dictator Trump” is trying to jail his political enemies that are just trying to “expose” his evil ways. This is going to be all out war between the Trump team, Obama, the DNC and the media. All cards end up on the table.

What, if anything, does anyone in the Trump administration plan to do about this? Has anything been done at this point that anyone outside of the administration knows about?
No one will ever know until it is searched. I would guess that only DJT could order that opened. I still believe most items were destroyed or stolen via the sandy Burglar method. They could be kept by numerous people but I doubt anyone is dumb enough to come out now. Probably holding for insurance.
One such example would be the Selective Service record with the “80” instead of 1980 or 2008 with the first part clipped and the second part inverted. There has to be a record if the was ever filed. If the paperwork is not present there would be a large whole in the records unless they never existed in the first place. There are logs, lists, etc.. that would back up this information. No one has ever bothered to look.
