The San Francisco 49ers Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Rams kicked off in front of a nearly empty stadium.

Los Angeles Times reporter Lindsey Thiry tweeted a photo at the time of kickoff, which showed thousands of open seats. In fact, most sections in the photo have more empty seats than fans.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported that 63,500 tickets had been sold for the game, but of course, simply selling a ticket doesn’t mean the buyer will actually show up to the game.

It’s hard to believe there are more than 30,000 people in the stadium, judging from the photos.

This is not a great look for the NFL. TV ratings are already on the decline, and now people aren’t even going to the games.

The NFL is the crown jewel of American sports. It can’t be overstated how awful the optics of an empty stadium for a primetime game is.

NFL management needs to isolate the problem and fix it before things continue to spiral downward

It definitely was not the ‘heat effect’ where one side of the stadium cooks on hot days with no shade ..

The 9ers showed life,, the Rams showed more.. Goff should be a 9er.. Hoyer hit a couple bombs .. but otherwise, worth 20 buck seats? Not for folks who like to see professional defenses on the NFL fields.

I'm sure it varies by stadium. No doubt the likes of Pittsburg or Green Bay have a stadium full of true middle class fans. Not so in Dallas. I couldn't afford to step foot into that place. But they do have LOTS of corporate ticket holders.

The new Giants Stadium is 42 MILES from san franciso... Meadowlands is 11 miles... Not even remotely a close comparison.

Giants stupidly thought that if they build it in the silicon valley the high dollar tech folks would pay way too much to come to a game... This was stupid.. what is it now 4 years into the new stadium? And they still are half empty or worse most games, and that was before the whole Keapernick nonsense....

It is not the Giants stadium. The SF Giants play in AT&T Park on the San Francisco waterfront. It is the 49ers stadium that was built in Santa Clara.

It’s the 60’s anti-American left’s dream that has come to fruition through so many things like our education systems. Now, so many of the indoctrinated off-spring of this movement runs so many things like the education systems, the entertainment industries (NFL included), companies and corporations, etc., that we’re seeing it come to fruition in the US.

The good thing is they and their failed ideology is being rejected by the American people. You would think the left would have figured this out but they won’t and double-down on their self-fulfilled BS that America is rejecting them because they are racist. The American left are terrible, terrible people.

If the NFL doesn’t come to grips with what is really happening within, the failed left will take them down with them as statism always fails.

It is very good reading and I'm not even white. What the left is attempting to do is marginalize and silence white folks in this country AKA the Alinsky way of doing things. They push this and this crazy PC culture because it's part of the big power grab they have been attempting for awhile.

Let's hope and pray more Americans figure this out and continue to reject them and their Alinsky ways. I also hope they figure out this power grab is un-Constitutional and the perps responsible are brought to justice.
