Trump's tweets central to legal cases on dossier, travel ban and more
CNN ^

President Donald Trump's tweet Tuesday morning calling the Russia dossier "bogus" is already being used to argue that intelligence agencies should release a related government summary of the contentious document. Every time Trump on Twitter calls the dossier fake, he could be acknowledging that the intelligence community investigated it and presented to him their findings, according to a court filing Tuesday from lawyers who seek official government information about the dossier.

In this case and others, the President's prolific use of Twitter continues to complicate his administration's arguments. The court actions that mention Trump's tweets now stretch across a wide variety of issues, including the official handling of the dossier, immigration policy, who should run an independent agency and First Amendment rights. In many of the cases, a judge's ruling on the President's tweets could carve out a new area of law. In some cases, Trump's tweets may be official statements from the President, government lawyers have argued.

"Legally speaking, the tweets are quite significant. They provide a window into his beliefs and motivations," said Neal Katyal, the former acting solicitor general in the Obama administration who is leading a case that opposes Trump's travel ban.

Judges cannot, by definition, "carve out a new area of law". As far as "official statements", this is the left simply trying to limit the use of the President's alternate means of communication - the only one that bypasses their ability to filter and distort his words.

The MSM does not know how to shut down President Trumps tweeting, so they simply trot out that his tweets are actually harming his administration in the court system.

When President Trump had a travel ban blocked, his tweets were used against him. This article is simply meant to “advise” President Trump that it would be best not to tweet about many things.

The left does not like having their narratives crushed so quickly and effectively. The left also does not like the fact that President Trump controls the narrative by way of his tweets.

What’s a poor lefty supposed to do in the Age of Trump?

You know the Dems are unraveling when they glom onto tweets as fodder for their nasty agenda.

“Keep tweeting, Donald. You’re getting to them. They’ve exhausted all the usual Democrat scams.”

My visiting father-in-law is a LIV CNN junkie - watches it for hours every day (which saves me from his repetitive, endless stories). It is a CONSTANT blather about Russia. I cannot believe how bad CNN actually is...

After reading the entire article, I can’t find a problem. The article recognizes that Comey has said the Dossier contained unverified and salacious material. The Dossier was published online and is hardly a secret. If the CIA/FBI/NSA had proof, the Dems would have leaked it long ago.

Trump can pronounce the Dossier bogus from personal knowledge; he don’t need no stinkin’ “Intel Community Assessments” to know what he did and didn’t do. Presumably he’d would know if he paid sparrows to wet the bed (Hillary was more of a DIYer in this department), or conspired with Russians to subvert the election. The claim that his tweets somehow reveal classified information is a total crock.

That said, I’m all for seeing the results of verification efforts, though Brennan and Comey probably concluded that the lack of evidence proves it all, because, hey, these allegations are serious. Why can’t Manfort’s attorneys demand these docs as part of discovery in the cases against him?

If I were you the tv would NOT be on CNN. I’d tell him to go to a motel if he wants the power to choose what is watched on TV.

“[The tweets] provide a window into his beliefs and motivations,”

Now that is strange. Can anyone find a tweet that Trump has posted about the Russian collusion hoax that he has not stated publicly a hundred times?

And is he disobeying a gag order from a judge? And is he the first to answer back, in public, and by any means, to bogus charges?

And is he not entitled to beliefs and motivations concerning the hoax, the same as any number of democrat Senators and Representatives who daily spew their venom on the topic?

Do these same vitriolic spewing politicians offer to recuse themselves when their investigative committees happen to meet?
