You beat me to it (see my tagline). Although I would also make it a (small l) libertarian-nationalist. I want as much freedom as possible, but you can't have freedom without a strong nation, something the Libertarian Party doesn't get. So first and foremost I'm a nationalist.
Kurt rocks!!!!
I’d rather die as a free man on my feet than live as a slave on my knees.

Bread and circuses.
The title could just as well been:
Why Trump uses Twitter.
We have no wall.. trillions in spending.. a bunch of pave pave America plans. Syrians, more h1bs, if this is not bowing, then we are in more trouble than we know.
I can’t tell much from this article, but there have been a series of articles that pretty much go like this:
1) You (conservatives) won - the players are now going to ACT more like they love America.
2) Some still won’t, and they’ll stay in the locker room, and then slip on to the sidelines, hopefully with no one noticing.
3) Now shut up conservatives and PLEASE start SPENDING MONEY on football again. And, as a first step, PLEASE renew those season tickets, so that we can at least keep our gravy train going for another year.
As I’ve noted before, stopping the ‘in your face’ protests (as they’re trying here) will NOT work. They let that opportunity slip right through their hands when the owners sided with Conlin in the early days of the ‘protests’.
They need to do MUCH MORE than what they’ve done, to have any chance. I would suggest the following:
1) Take the $90M per year you plan to lecture us with about race and instead put it in a fund to pay for the educational expenses of kids who have lost parents, due to cop killings - if anything is left over, send it to the survivors for real-time expenses.
2) Apologize to the country and THANK the country for giving you guys such amazing career opportunities, both in football and throughout society. Tell football fans that even though you may think (correctly), that there is still racism in the country, it DOES NOT occur on the field, and protesting it has no business there either.
3) SUSPEND the players who act up during the National Anthem, including stay in the locker room. Act up - you get to SIT OUT the entire game, without pay. That simple. Don’t blame the team with a meaningless ‘penalty’, it’s not their fault. Act up a second time, then a 4 game suspension without pay. Act up a third time, same punishment, 4 games...eventually the owners will figure out you’re not worth the trouble of tying up a roster position for the troublemakers.
Thanks, FrankR!
It's easy to see what Lefties would do IF they could take guns away from us Normals.
The NFL collectively pissed in my Wheaties. I have no appetite for Wheaties now.
I am not going back to the NFL. To the big shots in the board rooms, BEWARE.
4) FIRE the commissioner. His replacement must have identifiable pro-America actions based on real pro-America values.
ABSOLUTELY!
Should have thought of that. That was an IN YOUR FACE move to re-hire him.
“That was the point, and now they are mad because we took their insult exactly as they intended it to be taken.”
Good article. The above quote reminded me of when I was a teen and had to deal with peers who would say something insulting and when called on it claim it was “just a joke”. Once you realize what is going on you have to tell them in no uncertain terms that if it continues there WILL be consequences.
The two big lies were that kneeling wasn't about what kneeling was about and that the boycott was only galvanizing the NFL and wasn't effective. Oh sure, but only in their alternative world spun by the willing left wing media.
Anyway, I will be a happier spectator of the NFL this year. Just like I am happier about the goings on of the office of the POTUS. I'm not going to "win" and then not enjoy the win.
I understand those who will "never" again do the NFL. They weren't boycotters obviously, but rather people who were offended at a deeper level and will not return regardless of the responses of the NFL. But they should realize there are plenty of folks like me who hoped that our monetary pressure would adjust the business practices of the NFL. We were heard and even garnered support from our POTUS and I am glad for it.
Don’t be fooled.
Petty penalties for “kneeling” are just window dressing.
The NFL gave almost $100 MILLION to leftist, cop-hating organizations like Black Lives Matter.
They are DEAD to me.
One life, LIVE IT!
One of my favorites.
I've maintained for a long time that the only way the Left succeeds is by doing what Schlichter mentions re the Fredocons do. They're the equivalent of concern trolls, and really aren't interested in thwarting the Left--they hope that they get eaten last by the monsters they help foster.
“There’s a great scene in the movie Witness where a bunch of bullies start picking on some Amish farmers’
except in reality, the townspeople would not allow these hooligans to do anything like they did in the movie...
Except the Green Bay Paker’s field in Green Bay, Wisconsin belong to the citizen of Green Bay, and a individual team owner, that got the the field payed by tax payers dollars and puts the profit in his own pocket. That is why my husband and I became fan when they won in 1997
Im aware of that. Thats one of the reasons that I became a Packers fan.
I also appreciated their winning tradition and the fact that they were located in a smaller town.
But I cannot, in good conscience, support the NFL. Also, Aaron Rodgers is a rabid leftist from Berkeley.
