A bunch of millenials have now found themselves in the workforce, after 8 years of the previous admin sputtering in a crappy economy. I hope to to see new Alex Keaton’s soon.

One major factor for me was the election of Reagan. He was going to provoke WWIII, he caused homelessness with his economic incompetence, there were going to be death camps, etc. I don’t remember the specifics, but I do remember that the left went into hyperbolic hysteria. And I believed all the horror predictions, and was upset that so many people were so stupid and elected him. Couldn’t they understand all the harm he was about to cause?
Only the predicted disasters never materialized. I began to understand that the left was fearmongering, not predicting.
Skip forward a few years, and the Democrats nominated a communist sympathizer who could not tell the truth and was involved in scamming people for money. I was so horrified that I never voted Democrat again.
We can hope that intelligent millenials, no matter how they were raised, are smart enough to figure out that most of what the MSM claims about Trump is outright lies. I think, once they figure that out, they may begin to question other tenets of the left. Like I did. Like David Horowitz did.
My FIL works 5.5 days a weelk (1/2 on Saturday). He is 95.

Because that is the outcome of socialism taken to its conclusion. Death on a massive scale.

They would just say “well, then we’re dying for a good cause!” because they KNOW they’re never going to actually put their lives on the line.
I think most millenials have convinced themselves that they are Libertarians, even though most probably couldn’t tell you much about any of the respective political leanings. Since most people fall in the middle, I bet lots of them are starting to see just how insane the Left is becoming and want no part of it. It doesn’t take a genius to see where the Left wants to take this country, so you’re either with them or against them. And for many, since so much of what is going on was born on college campuses, they saw this every day as they walked to and from class.
Where I went to school, it seemed like it was, Coming Out Week, every other week. All them making out, holding hands, ranting and raving about equality, pink and purple balloons everywhere. It didn’t make anyone phobic to the homosexual community on campus, it made people furious with the community. You get tired of hearing, We’re Here, We’re Queer, We’re in your face, when all you want to do is get a cheeseburger and fries from the grill at the student union center.
They still say AIDS was Reagans’ fault.

You are correct. Around the time of the Founding Fathers, an often-quoted statistic is that 15-20% were Loyalists, 33-45% were Patriots, and the rest were ballast. If you replace Loyalist with statist, and Patriots with Deplorables, we are right where we started.
As noted elsewhere, Liberals/Loyalists have made politics their religion...What they really want is liberal Sharia law, a secular theocracy....for them, politics is the means to secular salvation. The minimum wage, gender equality, nationalized health care, and global warming—whatever their practical virtues—are not just expedient policy prescriptions. They are essential aspects of the liberal fatwa...Question them and you are not just wrong—you are a heretic.
Yes, that 20% lot are fixed in their ways and have made politics their religion. Further, the hippies are dying off and thus they need fresh recruits. However, these aging hippies/current statist/DNC cabal want the Millenial recruits to go from wanting to help people (not an unadmirable quality) to dying for liberal Sharia law. Yea sure, some of them wear pink hats and protest on FB...but when one of their elders self-immolates over global warming, I think a good number of Millenials decide maybe Trump isn't nuts after all.
I see linkages between Loyalists and the current left/Antifa. AND linkages between Patriots and Deplorables. Trump has invigorated that American spirit in Deplorables and has struck fear into the hearts of the opposition. I haven't seen fear in the Loyalists (read: media, swamp critters etc.) like this since Reagan fired PATCO. Americans like to win and I very much expect many Millenials, seeing the WINNING spawned by Trump, are getting increasingly turned off by this display of loser-like statist attitude that demands martyrdom for a secular theocracy where they don't get anything in return.
I recently attended a family reunion where the millennials were firmly glued to their smart phones. However, when they did speak, they were surprisingly pro conservative. I raised the subject of the 2nd Amendment, and to my complete surprise they all hauled out concealed weapons. They were very well educated in the need for self defense.
Don’t forget that computers and automated machines will put teens out of work too.
That book and Chambers “Witness” have a revered place on my book shelves.

Then there's an unintended consequence of erasing Confederate History. With those statues and symbols less visible, it'll be harder to gin up outrage about what might have happened to some ancestors more than 150 years ago.
She doesn't say, but unless someone is recognized by face, the only thing I can think of that would make anyone 'recognizable' as 'affiliated' with the Trump administration would be something with 'MAGA' on it.

The lying of the Left and Leftist media won’t be believed by as many people in 2020 as it was in 2016. According to them Trump was supposed to have started WWIII, destroyed the economy, and reinstituted slavery by now. People will realize that none of the calamitous idiocy they promised Trump would bring has occurred. Moderates will be much more comfortable with Trump in 2020.

reality is, once young adults start a real job post education that pays a salary as opposed to a wage...many are shocked at their take home dollars and want to know where the money is going.
Some have no idea... cue Cardi B making a video wanting to know why Uncle Sam isn’t picking up the garbage in her city or providing more than one pair of underwear to convicts.
So of course she wants to know what you doing with her money.
