One of the things I find funniest about them is, when you ask them what it means, they will always come out with some variation that, really nothing should be illegal as long as what it is, ins’t hurting someone else. So, they’ll always bring up Prostitution, smoking pot, needing licenses for this or that. And I tend to agree that there are some, victimless crimes.

But, when you ask them how would differences be settled, they cannot answer you. They’ll revert back to something along the lines of people respecting one another’s boundaries. Ok, but what happens when those boundaries aren’t respected. What happens when a neighbor is having a party and it’s loud, raucous and the people there are keeping the whole neighborhood awake and infringing on their right to get a good night sleep? Never can get an answer to that one. Or any other scenario where one person starts to infringe on another and what the accepted resolution is. It’s pretty easy to stump them, even when they think they have the intellectual upper hand.

Drug addled, faggot-loving baby-killers (who want smaller government)

And they're taking the party away from the Bible-thumping Jesus-freaks who believe there's nothing wrong with a big government if it is enforcing moral values.

Well it’s either rationale policy to preserve and build our republic or this - https://youtu.be/WOOkQWun8Z0

Not a tough choice.

The ‘Rats are alienating anyone who draws a private sector paycheck.

As I explained to a ‘Rat candidate for Critter who showed up on my admittedly humble doorstep bragging that he’d vote to repeal the tax cut, I WANT MY CRUMBS BACK. Mine, I added. Not someone else’s. Impoverishing some other PDB is NOT what I want.

Far to much self-medicating among them

It STILL nudges the base more to the left

And that's a GOOD thing. Their base shrinks, looks ever-more radical, and becomes more marginalized with every passing day. We can never sway the 35% of voters who will vote for a toasted with a D next to its name (just as they can never sway our 35%). It is the 30% in the middle, plus the many millions who a re eligible, or even registered, but do not vote, that we want coming to our side (or at least mocking and disdaining the other side)... and this is a massive help along those lines.

I think you are right. DS1, DD and The Boyfriend are all in college and-or in first jobs ... they are fans of President Trump. Average age of these 3 ... 21. These three were raised on farms and understand hard work, production costs and taxes.

DaNephew, raised by a college prof and school teacher, felt the Bern in the election, even though almost everyone in the family has been razzing him about it ever since.

DS2 doesn’t want to talk about politics with anyone at any time. But he likes his lawn mowing money as much as anybody.

The left is trying to turn this into 1967-1971 all over again. I honestly think the goal is to take this to 1972 and then compare Trump to Nixon, which of course didn’t work the first time.

You mean millennials don’t want to live in Venezuela?

The one and only time I put a political sticker on my vehicle, my dearly loved '66 VW at the time, was the first time I voted in a presidential election. It said McGovern'72. That didn't turn out very well and I haven't voted for a Democrat to reside in the White House since.

People grow up and join the working class of citizens. It can have a big effect on you.

I think the leaders of the democrat wing of the uniparty cringe whenever they see Ocasio-Cortez getting airtime. She's become the media darling, and her open embrace of socialism becomes the face of the party.

"Don’t forget that computers and automated machines will put teens out of work too"

Not sure about that. Similar automation makes it possible for today's poorly educated "yutes" to work the counter at fast food places despite the fact that they don't know enough math to "make change". So there is an "up" as well as a "down" effect.

If we’re relying on the millenials for their intelligence, we are well and truly effed.

In 1980, I had been out of college for 4 years, just gotten married (still married to the same guy!), and had shed my Boulder liberal indoctrination. I remember when Carter was President thinking "Is this the way it's going to be now? Double digit inflation AND interest rates? Speeding towards Socialism?" Then that night in November, it was a landslide and the sun came out again for 8 glorious years! It's funny but from 2008-2016, I had the same feeling again: "Is this how it's going to be now in our country? Are we on the path to Socialism that can't be stopped?" But then we had the night of November 9, 2016 and the sun came out again....

It's almost like we have to go as low as Carter and Obama to see how bad it is to elect a Reagan or a Trump. They are both outsiders who were willing to take on the establishment, unshackle American businesses and lead this country to greatness.

didn't a lot of us have more liberal/moderate views in our youth?

I was Meathead in my twenties. By my forties, I had morphed into Archie Bunker.

Millenials aren’t stupid. Lazy, entitled, overprotected, clueless, yes, but not stupid. Introduce them to reality and most of them will figure it out.

I know a left wing doctor who moved the California and was appalled that the Union nurses just pick up and leave regardless of what’s going on in the clinic because their Union wants them to. The left wing doctor is now beginning her slow drift back to reality.

If we can get the Left over their love affair with abortion, I think real pregress in this country could be made.

I hear ya. I was sitting in a bar about 15 years ago killing some time and the subject of politics came up. The young guy sitting next to me very confidently said the US Constitution should be rewritten every year.

I have to admit I found myself speechless. I was stunned by the sheer ignorance and stupidity of this person then I realized there were others who heard him who were nodding in agreement.

Yes; this was in San Diego, CA as a matter of fact. How does one counteract that level of wrongheadedness?
