With Cohen Implicating Trump, a Presidency’s Fate Rests With Congress
MSN News ^ | August 22, 2018 | NICHOLAS FANDOS and JONATHAN MARTIN

Posted on 08/22/2018 10:27:06 AM PDT by detective

As he pleaded guilty in a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday to violating federal campaign finance laws, Michael D. Cohen, President Trump’s longtime fixer, put his future in the hands of the American legal system.

But the fate of Mr. Trump, the man who Mr. Cohen said directed him to break the law by making payments to a pornographic film actress and a former Playboy model, rests, in all likelihood, in the political arena and in the halls of Congress.

At least for now, the Republican Party continues to stand by the president. But with only weeks until the midterm elections, the question will soon be put before voters, who will decide whether to hand Congress — and the power of investigation, subpoenas and, possibly, impeachment — to the Democrats.

If by some stroke of fate the Democrats were able to take the House and Senate, they would run with this.

It’s as close as they’ll ever get, even if it is nothing.

Just got off the phone with my Mother. She is in her 70s, and not very inform but votes. She has no cable, her only news is from Facebook. That is why facebook is trying to control the message in their venue.

With the Cohens news she now thinks President Trump is going to be impeach. She is ok with that because Pence is a Christian man.

In the battle of the un-inform Public Opinion, the President took a major blow yesterday.

We need to post to Facebook and other Social Media channels the facts to educate the Un-inform Public.

I really believe People like the Free Republic help educate our relatives and friends using Facebook and other social media on who Trump is during the election.

Re-open your social media account for the Meme battle to educate the un-inform during this midterm election. They can not block all of us....

Meme graphics are better for getting the word out. The censoring system has to be able to read the text. If the text is embedded it takes the system to longer to catch it.

The best you can do in most places is have the cities against the suburbs.

Not even that. Firstly, you've left out rural. Secondly, you will have battles within cities... neighborhood, blocks, apartment buildings. Same will happen in suburbs.

To quote another FReeper whose name I can't remember, in our "next" civil war,

"The advantage would go to the side willing to look their neighbor, fellow parishioner, PTA member, mailman in the eye and kill them.

“Psyops aimed at turning wobbly Republicans against President Trump?”

Well, it’s already worked with Mitt Romney.

They are pumping this up into a crime that is bigger than Watergate...or so we are being told

What are the Trump Haters going to do when nothing happens since President Trump did not commit any crime.

They are not going anywhere near a court with this

They are not going to separate him from his supporters.

They are not going to impeach him.

I honestly expect the left to go even further insane (if that is possible).

So, does all this mean that Cohen is a Russian operative?

The hopeful reaction of media democrats is entertaining. Those people are pathetic.

A Congress that will have no desire to be tarred and feathered by the angry mob waiting outside.

A Congress that will have no desire to be tarred and feathered by the angry mob waiting outside.

That might depend on whether that mob is wearing red caps or black masks.

"The advantage would go to the side willing to look their neighbor, fellow parishioner, PTA member, mailman in the eye and kill them.

That reminds me of a General Mattis quote.

"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet."

But if your quote is true the enemy (Liberals) have the advantage. They seem to have little regard for human life. If they are willing to kill their own unborn children how much regard are they going to have for their neighbors?

As I once heard a US Attorney for Oklahoma state, “the law is what I want it to say”.

Which entrance. The front steps, sides, rear or the rear of the Senate office building?

They just don't get it.

We Trump supporters are with him all the way. We don't care about his personal stuff at all. We know that he loves our country and as president he has proven himself to do what's right for America.

And that's all that matters.

Fake news. Trump paying an actress/porn star did not break any law.
