Emmanuel Macron is toxic and Paris is burning

Pictures of flames over the Champs Elysées are hardly useful to President Macron’s effort to persuade foreigners to invest in France. He does not come well out of this at all. He is incapable of explaining anything to anyone without coming across as preachy and condescending and certain he is the smartest person in the room. His narcissism reminds one of Trump [Barf].

His set-piece TV interview the other day on an aircraft carrier with a Rafale jet as a prop was yet another display of imperium and grandiosity. He practically spoke without stopping. He has no humility in his body. Not even pretend humility. His hypomanic schedule in which he is constantly in motion on his fleet of jets, announcing a European army one day, lecturing the Africans the next, telling the Brits to suck-up the Brexit ‘backstop’ the next, is actually unsettling. He tweets like Trump then disappears when Paris is burning.

He will get a bloody nose at the European elections. That will not dent his executive power or control of the French national assembly. It is unlikely he is capable of becoming an empathetic human. The great disaster is that France needs the economic and structural reforms that Macron has promised, but his project is menaced by his own toxic personality. His only grace at the moment is that there’s no visible alternative.

It’s only a matter of time before it becomes the Islamic Republic of France or Francistan.

I wonder if he now understands how nationalism and patriotism go hand in glove.

Macron is of the same mind as Mutti Merkle...they want the member countries of the EU to be absorbed completely into the EU and lose their own separate identities.

When Macron speaks of patriotism, he means to the EU, not France.

That's why nationalism is not defined as patriotism in his mind.

Did you add the [Barf] part or was that a part of the article?

It’s so hard to tell with the horrible level of writing these days.

Dems were thinking things like this about Hillary in 2016. "Toxic person, corrupt and not communist enough but she's all we have and she's going to win so try to get excited."

Yet somehow another viable alternative did pop up, just not one they wanted or liked. Don't rule it out in France.

If one can believe the French language media, Macron doubled down today and is going full speed ahead.

In Euro speak, nationalism is States Rights

There will be no states rights because there will be no states to have rights.

There will be tyranny of the bureaucrats and taxation with out representation.

How do you say in French:

Bend over and accept more and more taxation. Your government is smarter than you. We will tell you how much money you can have and what you can spend it on.

That was moi.;-)

The use of square brackets indicates an insertion by someone other than the author of the quote (such as by an editor or Freeper). Here's a link on this usage...Inserting or Altering Words in a Direct Quotation.

IIRC, I have seen some folks add "-ed" inside the brackets to indicate the comment was made by an editor.

I don't know the French are pretty stupid and weak combined with a lazy arrogant attitude. Electing a 38 year old leftist - gee what could go wrong. I like seeing them get what they deserve - this is what they voted for.

No wonder leftists/globalists and patriots/conservatives/nationalists can never get along.

Completely different world view and set of values as well as priorities.

We should start divorce proceeding immediately. We get the house and land. They get to GTFO.

Possibly this really has been an authentic howl of rage from French people...who have now been betrayed successively by right, left and center.
