Judge Sullivan told Flynn:

“You were an unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as the National Security Adviser to the President! “Arguably, this undermines everything this flag over here stands for! Arguably, you sold your country out!”

Good Lord! And Hillary walks free!

Sullivan apparently asked Mueller about the Logan Act and said “isn’t that the law nobody has ever been charged with violating?”

We are done.

I held out hope for Trump, but he now looks like a weasel, hiding from the farmer’s dogs.

I know its sacrilegious around here to say that; but where is his strength? Where is his “drain the swamp.”

The world is in a shambles. He will go down next to Hoover as being in charge before the BIG events in the coming years.

I love a good bonfire. I am not so old that I won’t be around for any of this. I am just glad I won’t be inbvolved for the really NASTY stuff that will be here in 10-15 years.

If Flynn withdraws his plea then he would have to take his chances with a D.C. jury. Trump got 4% of the vote in D.C. Think of the jury pool. Flynn’s plea arrangement sentencing recommendation from Mueller is ok with probation-only, no jail time. A jury might not go along with that.

The judge has been trying all day to get Flynn to withdraw his plea because he knows Flynn is not guilty. Flynn refuses because mueller threatened to charge him with other offenses and charge his son as well. Simple.

Trump fired Flynn for lying to Pence, not for lobbying on behalf of Turkey. The judge just backtracked because he realized that Flynn stopped lobbying for Turkey before the election. Dates matter. Hopefully the dates matter on the 302s as well. And Flynn’s lawyers just asked for a delay.

Remember the US has been having an on and off again love-hate relationship with Turkey since 2003. When Flynn was lobbying for Turkey it’s possible the US was trying to schmooze Erdogan [as Hillary did at times] to keep him from inching closer to the Russians during the Syrian war.

Bu the main reason for this crap is Iran.

Not necessarily.

Judge Sullivan May feel anger toward the General for his relationship with Turkey, about which I know very little, and don’t much care. Irrelevant.

However, that is not the issue currently before the court. The issue is whether General Flynn should be permitted to withdraw his guilty plea, on the basis of egregious behavior by the prosecution. None of which has a thing to do with Turkey.

The first thing you learn in law school is how to spot the actual issues.

Bungling Bob withheld exculpatory evidence, not just unethically. The courts have long held that this is criminal conduct.

The Super Agents, convinced the General that he did not need an attorney present during questioning, because their little chat had “no legal significance”.

General Flynn thought he was brought in for a routine meeting in his capacity as incoming NSA.

The 302 taken during the actual interview by these highly trained experts in reading non verbal cues and detecting deception stated clearly and unequivocally that no signs of deception were observed.

That’s the information that the Pettifogger-in-Chief was hoping the judge wouldn’t see.

That is what is in front of Judge Sullivan. Not to say that judges don’t sometimes veer way off track. They do.

But, they are expected to put personal feelings off to the side. The options he has would be to permit the General to withdraw his guilty plea. That would force the Mule Team to actually have to go to trial, at which they suck; or let it drop.

Or, the judge can dismiss with or without prejudice.

The one thing he *must* to to maintain a shred of credibility is sanction the crap out of Bobby the Mule.

It seems that Justice is stymied and the real criminals go free. It would take Hercules to clean this stable.

“I’ve been grateful for my advanced age for some time now.
Trump can’t save everything by himself, and he is alone.”

I am afraid you are correct. The swamp is winning.

I won’t go as far as you in your assessment of Trump, but I too am perplexed by all this. What I’ve seen from The Donald thus far is a lot of angry tweets, and not much else.

Perhaps that’s inevitable, given the power and depth of the Deep State. But I expected more, given that we are not two months out but two years out.

Well, at least he’s picking the federal justices, and not Hillary. We can be thankful for that at least.

And to think so many were pining their hopes for Flynn getting a fair shake on this judge.

Basically Flynn is scared to death (spooked) of Mueller either going after his son or most likely charge him with the whole Turkey mess so he WANTS to plead guilty and get it over with. Sullivan and the whole D.C. knows Flynn is not guilty of lying to the agents but Mueller has him dead to right

Yup. Sullivan has suspected the plea was a sham some time ago so he requested the police reports to read to make up his mind himself if Flynn really was guilty. Today he practically begged Flynn to withdraw his plea but Flynn refused for the reasons I shared. So Flynn did final,y take the judge up on his offer to continue the sentencing on the theory that Flynn might later on finally agree to withdraw his plea.

Catherine Herridge just said that Flynn’s lawyer SAID during the hearing that the last piece of the case that Flynn is still cooperating on is the case in Virginia for his two Turkish associates. Even with the redactions that makes this pretty obvious that this has nothing to do with Trump. They got him to plead based on the Turks. This information is actually a big win for Trump. No wonder Sullivan was trying to get him to change his guilty plea!

Its also possible Flynn was working more closely with Turkey than originally presumed

Flynn is not helping himself. He keeps saying he knowingly lied to the FBI, and knew it was a crime. He said that to the Judge. Was he representing Turkey while he was working in government...

He has yet to fight back and say he was coerced, or say that his son was threatened with prison by Mueller’s goons.

So he may have a deal with Mueller, some where. But he can’t make it up about Trump collusion because it doesn’t exist.

The judge tried but Flynn refused, at least for now. The judge finally was able to talk Flynn into postponing the sentencing on the hopes Flynn will agree to withdraw his plea. The judge is on Flynn’s side. Folks just don’t understand the dynamics.
