FR is a useful news aggregator; but I generally do not see comments here that contain need-to-know information. Twitter and Gab are not as good as FR for news aggregation, but are far better for discussions, since 1) that's where the general public is (who need to hear our message) and 2) that's where the knowledgable people are (who post need-to-know information).

If FR were further optimized as a news aggregator, I think it would be more useful. I'm suggesting something like automatically checking for redundancies, enhancing searching and sorting, organizing multiple articles on the same event into one bin, etc. IMO the whole commenting system can be dropped if this makes things simpler.
