There is no legitimate source of information available to the public (and I don't have any inside information) about the current health status, actual prognosis, or future plans of Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
While all the inferences posters keep making about what is PROBABLE are well-founded, the truth is, no one knows anything except that she has cancer, she was surgically treated in the third week of December 2018, and that her return to work is taking longer than was originally hoped for by her supporters and friends in the media.
That's all anyone who is a legitimate source of information knows. The "pneumonia" story appeared to originate in September 2018, and the abnormal Xray was almost certainly caused by the cancer.
She was treated by the best team in the US (although there's a lot of competition) and although the story may end soon, if any team could have given her a chance for multi-year survival without cognitive injury, she had that team.
When she is ready to resign, or when she dies, I'm sure there will be an announcement. Until then, all the stuff here is hot gas.

Try to keep it civil here. In the end we are all on the same side. Ignorance is not stupidity, nor is it an insult. It means “lacking knowledge or awareness”. Push away, but if the shoe fits...
BTW, their fake story did not “turn out to be true”. They had no idea she had cancer. In fact, they reported she had malignant melanoma, not cancerous growths on her left lung, which seems pretty likely would be detected with chest x-rays when she injured her ribs.
They have a fair chance of getting the pneumonia story right, only because it is a highly likely complication for someone her age after a rib injury and a lobectomy.
The Supreme Court has a scheduled break until 19 Feb.
So she likely has at least that time as a grace period, without having to announce anything. It is common for Justices to be given a lot of deference toward the end of life.
I don’t expect her to volunteer to leave unless the other Justices jointly request it (the custom of the Supreme Court). The other Justices are unlikely to request it, if it will be a matter of just a few months.
If her pancreatic cancer metastasized to her lungs, it is likely a matter of weeks or months, even without pneumonia.
If Ginsberg was competent to hear and review cases even from a recuperative bed, she would allow reporters into her room to show her competence. This has not been done.
She is not competent and is clinging to life. Her clerks are writing her decisions.
She is almost a Norwegian Blue pining for the fjords.

Her days are numbered! It is only a question of timing. The Good Lord knows when he will call her forth. It will be a time that will help Trump. God favors the New Yorker, he is doing his work on Earth. Watch and be amazed.
From what we know about the Marxist left (now known as the Democrats) I am absolutely convinced that when she passes, her death will be covered up until after 2020 when these thugs think they will gain control of the White House. You can bet this will happen.

I want proof that she’s dead and has been confronted by all the babies she’s had a hand in murdering — just before she goes “south”.
My mother had the same surgery for the same condition at age 86. The prospects were grim going in, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
