Trump’s speech is today, Day 29. Bet that the RIF is part of this.

Not sure where the “It will take another 30 days to implement the plan“ comes from, but an immediate layoff kills the leverage.

The extra 30 days also allows time to weed out the hundreds of bad and lazy SES - so make them all reapply. Even if Nancy gives in on the Wall, Trump still has time to fire the known anti-Trumpers.

Fire them all! Now!

There’s a good bit of unrealistic, wishful thinking in that article.

true, but this is the only way to get this behemoth under control and only DJT has the cajones to do it. Imagine the man known for ‘You’re Fired’ doing this.

RIF, as with any other federal regulation or policy PDJT wishes to use to the nation’s benefit, will be struck down as “unconstitutional” by some leftist judge so fast it’ll make our heads spin.

Roughly 800,000 federal employees could be permanently removed under this plan

But, but, but...

Then there would be fewer people to screw us over and fewer well paid incompetents to not do the work.

They should pay the 800,000 federal employees. But have them stand guard on our southern border until they’re RIFed!

Hmmm...article is a bit imprecise, mixing facts and figures.

Near as I can tell, the federal workforce is a little over 2,000,000. Of that, the Senior Executive Service numbers approximately 8,000. And the number of nonessential federal employees on furlough is approximately 800,000.

I suspect that Senior Executive Service members are essential employees and not furloughed. But they and the 800,000 who are furloughed appear to both be subject to RIF action required to commence on day 30.

At any rate, the Senior Executive Service is just 1% the size of those federal employees on furlough. Completely removing those incumbents is not possible. And even doing so would not be the massive savings touted by the article.

However, wounding the Deep State could be done by reducing the number of Senior Executive Service positions through RIF. And significant savings are possible by eliminating federal labor force positions through RIF. It just won't be the amount implied.

Extrapolative drivel

To suggest an 800,000 person RIF is stupid, just stupid.

More selective RIF is however worth consideration.

For starters, justifiable starters, all those collecting unemployment can be justifiably RIFed as self designated unemployed.

Removing SES is one thing. Trying to remove 800K competitive service employees is another.

The people sitting home right now aren’t at home because they’re nonessential; they are home because their functions are nonexempt (meaning they are not directly involved in public safety.)

My favorite example is payroll. That is an essential function in any organization, but those people are furloughed. Is it rational to RIF the entire HR support structure for the frontline employees?

If there is a RIF, it will be time consuming and complicated, and won’t give you the result your looking for.

With our firewalls? We can’t access porn, social media, private email, the list goes on. I’d like to know where the porn watchers work; their IT folks need to tighten up.

Jim Davis is a brilliant analyst and writer:

Immigrants, when they gain the right to vote for the first time, almost always vote for Democrats. A recent Yale-MIT study reveals that the actual number of illegal aliens in the U.S. is 22 million (the are INCORRECT - the number is closer to 30 million - and, I will some day be vindicated), which is roughly the populations of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland combined. The largest landslide in U.S. presidential history (Reagan vs. Dukakis, 1984) was 17 million. And the Democrats want all 22 million to have amnesty, citizenship, and voting rights as quickly as possible.

Correct on Democrat voting figure...it is about 98%. Incorrect on number living here, it is about 30 million, far more than what anyone ever says except those of us who are married to the culture.

Oh the black-robed leftist mob might try, but the last two great federal shutdowns were 1995-1996 under BClinton (21 days) and 2013 under Obama (13 days). So the precedent under LIEbrals stands.

Trump is a brilliant strategist. Ramped up schoolyard game of chicken - go ahead Pelosi, lick the frozen pole.
