Delegate says he will introduce articles of impeachment against Lt. Gov. Fairfax

RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia delegate says that he will introduce articles of impeachment for Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax id he does not resign by Monday.

Del. Patrick Hope (D – Arlington) tweeted his plans to introduce articles of impeachment Friday hours after a second woman came forward accusing the Lt. Gov of sexual assault.

Fairfax denies the claim made by a college classmate who says she was raped by Fairfax in a “premeditated and aggressive attack” while they were undergraduates at Duke University in 2000.

“I deny this latest unsubstantiated allegation. It is demonstrably false. I have never forced myself on anyone ever,” Fairfax said in a statement released Friday afternoon. “I demand a full investigation into these unsubstantiated and false allegations. Such an investigation will confirm my account because I am telling the truth.”

The allegations are the second to be brought against Fairfax this week. On Monday, he denied allegations made by Dr. Vanessa Tyson claiming he sexually assaulted her at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Fairfax denied the allegations, claiming the encounter was consensual.

White governor gets caught in blackface photo.

The result?

Black guy gets impeached.

Gov. Northam is at least reading ROOTS this weekend. Or is he watching the mini-series? He's in Race Re-Education camp.

Is it a high tech lynching?

It sounded like from the initial reports that friends of the second accuser have made reports to “authorities.”

Is there a North Carolina indictment forthcoming? There’s no statute of limitations there on forcible rape. So he could be charged.

Where’s Maizie Hirono ---- who told Men to ‘Shut Up’ and Believe the Accuser of Justice Kav?

Senator Hirono Didn’t Always Tell Men to ‘Shut Up’ and Believe Accusers
Ntl Review By JOHN FUND, September 23, 2018

Hirono made some truly remarkable statements last week. “Not only do women like Dr. Ford, who bravely comes forward, need to be heard, but they need to be believed,” she insisted. She added, “I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change.” When the Wall Street Journal editorial page pointed out that her statements suggest that the “new American standard of due process will be the presumption of guilt,” she went further. Appearing on CNN on Sunday, Hirono said that Kavanaugh’s basic integrity had been undermined, in her eyes, during his confirmation hearings: He’s very outcome-driven, he has an ideological agenda, and I can sit here and talk to you about some of the cases that exemplify his, in my view, inability to be fair.

In other words, Kavanaugh was less believable in her eyes because of what she assumed his political views were. She even went on to imply that the mere allegation against Kavanaugh, even without any evidence to support it, had already damaged his credibility beyond repair: We already have one person who got to the Supreme Court under this cloud. We shouldn’t have another.

It would be too easy to suggest that Hirono was flirting with McCarthyism in her brazen comments. She is actually flirting with medieval standards of justice, when those in power arbitrarily decided who was telling the truth and who was a traitor.

.......spare us the hyper-moralizing speeches, the condemnation of half the human species simply because they are male, and the insistence that women who say they’ve suffered sexual assault must automatically be believed. Senator Mazie Hirono today poses as a brave feminist cultural warrior, but when it really counted in her own backyard in Hawaii, she was AWOL. The same holds true when Bill Clinton’s predations were in the news in the late 1990s.

Hirono’s involvement in the effort to sink the Kavanaugh nomination is nakedly political. She told Politico last Tuesday that she may try to derail for as long as two years any future Trump appointment. “I think we’ve had those kinds of vacancies before, and we certainly had over a one-year vacancy with Merrick Garland,” Hirono said. “So the world does not come to an end because we don’t fill all of the nominees.” Perhaps not, but if Senator Hirono’s radical new standard of political and legal due process — presumption of guilt — gains traction through the Kavanaugh hearings, an essential bulwark of our legal system could be demolished.

Won’t be surprised if Northam was behind the whole thing. Especially since his political career depends on this.

His office has begun to explore how it might recalibrate Northam’s legislative agenda to focus closely on race and equity … The move would mark a brazen attempt to hang onto his office by shifting the conversation away from Northam’s admission of having once worn blackface and his denials that he is featured in the racist yearbook photo, either as the person in blackface or the person in a Klan outfit. Northam’s policy team is looking at crafting a set of proposals based on the premise that the governor’s mistakes have rendered him keenly aware of inequity and the lack of justice faced by black Virginians 400 years after the first African people arrived in the Commonwealth, at Point Comfort, in 1619.

The centerpiece proposal is not complete in its scope or in terms of what it will seek to accomplish. But there are many possibilities being considered for a broad platform: increasing resources for affordable housing; setting new, more equitable standards in small business procurement; implementing programs that expand economic opportunity for entrepreneurs; pumping money into public services like education and transportation.

Then comes the really embarrassing detail [emphasis added]:
Northam doesn’t plan to hold any more press conferences any time soon. Advisers are in the midst of negotiations with major networks for a nationally televised interview they hope will humanize him. Additionally, his advisers have assigned the governor homework: He’s begun to read Alex Haley’s “Roots”, and “The Case for Reparations,” the seminal essay in The Atlantic by Ta-Nehisi Coates.

This is like something lifted directly from a “South Park” episode. Northam should just pay an indulgence to Jesse Jackson and get it over with already. This also seems like the lazy man’s way of familiarizing oneself with the black community. (“Isn’t there a book I can just read?”)

The amazing thing is: There’s no way that we’ve hit rock bottom with what’s happening now in Virginia. It surely will get worse or weirder from here.

Wouldn’t its have been funny if a fortune teller would have said months ago “I see on February 9th a white politician being impeached and in increasing trouble.”

The Dems would have whooped and laughed.

But then Feb. 9th arrived....

This actually went too far for Northam.

Had Fairfax lingered on - wounded, accused but denying - would have been getting heat off Northam.

Actual rape charges in another state (the NC law is no statute of limitations for forcible rape) means Fairfax will step down likely this weekend.

Then, exactly as you say, the appearance is the white guy got caught and the black guy took the fall. Northam will face even more pressure to go.

But he’s fairly clueless. It’s also a one term only state. He’s a doctor and seems more concerned with what his wife thinks. She’s thinking stay in and you’ll win folks back over with time and sufficient a** kissing/cash handouts to black leaders.

As it stands, resigning in disgrace. Would they even want to stay living in the state? Would their kids have to change their names?

So Northam might just ignore all the outcry and grind it out.

Sets up Republicans well for 2020.

White Dem organizers explaining it all to a crowd of local blacks in VA:

“So, see, that’s kind of funny isn’t it? Do you see the humor? The white racists in the hoods and blackface get off and the true black man gets destroyed. Ironic.
— Hey, why isn’t anybody smiling? Just a minute. Jeez, I just was laughing at the humorous side of all this. What are you guys doing with that club?”
