Since there is no national gun registry here, unlike Australia, how will a mandatory buyback be enforced?
Cars stopped and searched at random at police checkpoints?
Homes invaded by police with blanket warrants?
Stop & frisk on the streets for everyone?
Obama wanted to outlaw gun ownership with a stroke of the pen & found it wasn’t as easy as that. He couldn’t dragoon the states into doing anything not already agreed to.
IMO, PDJT signing that emergency order has inadvertently proven that Presidential EO’s don’t automatically fill the highways with armored convoys and the skies with combat aircraft. It only pointed out how many extant EO’s are still in effect. It’s not like FDR declaring war on Japan.
A conundrum for gungrabbers is the very political estimation of how many guns are in private hands in America. Understate it & it seems less of a societal problem although that could make gun owners appear to be a small troublesome minority who can be dealt with.
To overstate the number of guns in order to say “We’re doomed unless we confiscate them all!” would also make ending gun ownership seem an impossible task except through decades of generational reeducation of children yet unborn.
Look for articles under “change gun culture” or “too many guns” or even “crazy Americans love their guns”. You’ll find them to be long on final solutions and short on operational and logistical details.
I have yet to find a pro-gun control article that made me think “yes, it could happen here”.
There is NO amendment that makes illegal entry into the United States legal. I suspect that the courts will rule Trump has a right to declare an NE but he can only divert the 3.6 billion from the DOD under the NE. That is money as CINC Trump already controls for misc defense construction. They will block use of any other funds not authorized by Congress.
When you have lost the argument and have lost the legal fight, change the subject. They would have done better if they had claimed that the large number of states that have failed to legalize marijuana was the real national emergency.
No. America’s real national emergency is passing dumbass gun laws that aren’t or can’t be enforced. Sorry dummies but your beloved shooter was a felon that was allowed to buy a gun.
Gun crime IS a national emergency. 99.99% of the cases involve illegally procured guns. Gun crimes. Arming every civilian is the only way to stop these massacres. the wild west was not nearly as wild. A gunslinger was careful to pick his fights. When everyone carries a gun everyone is careful and polite.

Nonsense. Our chances of getting killed in a mass shooting are almost nill. On the other hand, we are affected by too much immigration whenever we pay taxes, pay auto insurance premiums, look for housing, or look for work.
Illegals kill a little over 10 people a day (4K a year) - how many do these “mass shooters” kill each year?
