American democratic socialists have faced scrutiny for their own indulgences under the capitalist system -- for instance, Sen. Bernie Sanders has three homes and a proclivity for private jet travel.

But American socialists' luxuries pale in comparison to those of history's most infamous socialist and communist leaders around the world.

Socialism doesn’t balance society, it creates wealth for those in charge as they are in control of it all. Only true communism can balance society but it is not possible to be implemented as 1, someone has to be in charge which violates it’s theology, and 2. a large enough of the population want to improve themselves and there aren’t enough Lamborghinis to go around for everyone. (Or enough ubers), and, 3. someone has to work to support the system and they can’t all be paid the same as a deep sea diver takes more chances than a pizza delivery person (Maybe).

Just look at pure communism where the state owns everything. You still have a political class where the bureaucrats and administrators that assume the role of aristocracy.

They may have less than capitalist moguls and aristocrats, but comparatively speaking the difference between them and the person on the street is even more stark. Just because the standard of living of everyone is stymied in a system where production is not rewarded doesn’t mean you can ever eliminate disparity and inequity, which are the tools being used to foment resentment for capitalism.

Try swapping your boss for someone with government authority to run your life. You have zero negotiating power with a bureaucrat.
