Good question. Her policy papers are drafted by the advisers. That's pretty standard procedure in Washington. And they discuss the themes she's going to talk about.

I doubt there's any real "scripting." She's too much of a loose cannon, so often "off script" that it's hard to believe that one exists.

The staff must be used to her flightiness by now, and she probably has more input than the "puppet" theory would suggest.

Doubtless she does repeat what they tell her are important themes and points. But it looks like she adds a lot of weird stuff of her own.

She has an Indian (East Asian) campaign manager now chief of staff who is the brains of the operation. His name is SAIKAT CHAKRABARTI.

He's connected with a larger group the Justice Democrats, which conducted auditions and selected OAC from 1000 applicants. I believe that Justice Democrats ran and won with three House members, all using the same formula of running against long term Dem incumbents in heavily Dem districts. Win the primary, win the seat.

It's similar to the Tea Party strategy of a few years ago, only it's all very top down. They raised about $2.5 M in for their candidates in the 2018 cycle. They are a PAC so there is a $5,000 limit, which about 75 people contributed $1,000 or more. (So, it looks like a well connected networking donation setup, like "bundling")

Justice Democrats have a website, here: Justice Democrats

From an article written about the organization from before the election:

Amongst the group’s founders were Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks, a progressive online news show with over four million subscribers on Youtube, and Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk, a self-produced Youtube show with half a million subscribers in its own right.

“We’re going to try to save the soul of the Democratic Party by boarding the Democratic Party’s ship and taking it over,” Uygur said while announcing the launch of Justice Democrats on his show.

...

These candidates include Ayanna Pressley, an African American woman who also unseated a ten-term incumbent in Massachusetts, Ilhan Omar, a Somali-American refugee who’s slated to become the first Muslim woman elected to Congress.

All three won: AOC, Omar and Pressley.

Ayanna Pressley. Mass 7th.

Pressley has a more conventional route to the office having worked for Joseph P. Kennedy II, and John F. Kerry in staff positions.

Here is the whole interview with Justice Democrats director:
