Australia's a big country with several time zones...approximately when would final,or near final,results be known? It's about 9:30PM in Sydney now so it would be 7PM in Perth.

Just saw a commentator on ABC (don't know who he is) who said “well,not only did the polls get it wrong nationally but they got it wrong in WA as well”.He seemed a bit stunned....kinda like CNN commentators looked in November 2016!

Yes - well, it is the ABC - they are very left leaning. I watch them because they do have Antony Green and while he may have a personal bias, he gives the call accurately.

I love watching youtube videos of the various networks covering our election results in 2016...including the BBC and the CBC. I bet you’ll enjoy watching the videos of today’s coverage for some time to come!

...people like Penny Wong seemed to accept reality pretty quickly. I've heard of her but I'm not sure exactly who she is...most likely she's pretty influential. So no chants of "they colluded with Trump and the Russians" from your Labor Party? Excellent!

we’ve now got a senior Labor person (Tanya Plibersek - Deputy Leader of the Labor Party) on the ABC and she isn’t conceding defeat.
Senator Penny Wong is Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, and their Shadow Foreign Minister. Basically number three in the party (after Shorten and Plibersek), and to try and put it in American terms, she’d likely be equivalent to the Secretary of State in a US government if Labor held office.
