The past three years have not been easy for the political fortunes or the emotional health of America’s Democrats. To the extent they feel optimistic about anything, they have been waiting for the 2020 election in the way inhabitants of a storm-ravaged city might look toward the end of hurricane season — as an opportunity to restore order not just to their fractured physical world, but to their battered psyches.
Why, then, even with the potential catharsis of impeachment proceedings against President Trump now underway, do so many feel so awful?

They are crazy in their heads because they are trying to make a complete lie into the truth. In their little black hearts, they know this is all BS.

It is as though, using some sort of mental eminent domain, the Progs have forced the him into the brains of their ilk. Or maybe Trump, master of 4D chess, did it himself. The guys is a permanent resident in their heads– a boogeyman tormenting them– rent-free!

The stock market is roaring. Unemployment is at a record low. The economy added 266,000 new jobs in November. Though these things are objectively good, of course, they are less good if you are a Democrat and you don’t want the current president to get credit for anything that might help him get re-elected.
This must twist their brains into jello. Can you imagine a platform that wants America to fail, just to spite Trump?
Just think, with all their lust for power and money, they didn’t get anything for their souls. The Devil got them for free. Putin may laugh at us for all the disintegration of our government; but Satan laughs forever.
Projection. Sure it is “overused” to the point of meaningless but as I trudged through Freud because I had to to get my BA, but I do believe projection is what you are after. I have mixed thoughts on Freud so I never took him too seriously. That said, if you think about it “underhanded” people or people who have a proclivity to underhandedness are going to see signs everywhere they look that someone else is trying to gain advantage on them in the exact same way they are attempting to gain advantage on others. An extortionist sees extortion everywhere he looks, an adulterer sees adultery everywhere he looks. The worst thing that could happen to them is to be taken advantage of in the same way the are taking advantage of others.
When your entire view of the world is based on leftist delusions, reality can be very unnerving.
That’s what’s wrong with the anxiety-ridden left.
They are not worried about democracy. Phooey.
They have been living a life of Alice in Wonderland views of the world and now can’t accept that none of it is true.
Think of all the cognitive dissonance in seeing Trup have one great accomplishment after another and knowing these accomplishments are true but unable to give him any credit.
Then when Trump takes credit, it grates their raw nerves and makes them depressed.
I would call them “poor dears” but they are refusing to adjust their world view to reality. So, yes, they deserve what’s happening to them.

They’re all sad because the entire world is not being ruled by one totalitarian communist state. Boo hoo hoo
Because their disaffection is an internal process, fueled by bad decisions and attitudes. They have externalized their internal dysfunction onto Trump; on some level, they must realize that simply getting rid of the symbol will not get rid of the internal turmoil. Thus, even though they want Trump gone, they remain unhappy because it will change nothing.
They never say what it is exactly that DJT is "getting away with."
