Excellent briefing, the networks broke in for coverage, but soon realized how good a job Trump is doing with the companies and air flights, they cut it off

Trump’s collaborative approach with the private sector is, IMHO, orders-of-magnitude more effective than the command & control approach the MSM, Dems and other leftists are pushing. Invoking the WPA to force GM’s cooperation was an anomaly. I expect great results from unleashing the creativity and energy of the private sector, through inspiring voluntary actions.

The take out is not working because the media has everyone in such a hysterical frenzy people think they will get the virus on their food!!! There was a post on my NEXT DOOR app where the woman was asking advice about going out for a walk because it was windy and she was afraid the wind was blowing the virus around outside!! You just can’t fix STUPID!!!

I do not know why the masks were in the warehouse. If they were donated, or what? That would be a strange donation. Maybe a company closed?

The response by those guys was weird, too, not that they are donating to Promedica, but that they want kudos for being “benevolent.” Did they get caught?

I saw a great article on the restaurant business a while back. 2017 marked the first time in U.S. history that Americans spent more money at restaurants than at grocery stores. And yet the restaurant business itself was in tough shape even back then.

I hate to see businesses close, but it seems to me that this country has been highly “over-built” in the restaurant business for years.

Closing restaurants down for several weeks is only one part of the disaster the industry faces. The bigger threat is that a lot of people simply won’t have the discretionary income to patronize restaurants as much as they used to.

Fauci appears to be setting 100,000 dead as the ceiling. It could possibly be that bad.

Fauci and Birx are the people who advocated shutdown to April 30. They got what they asked for.

Birx on the models, including Imperial. Now working with data reported. Chris Murray at HIME model agrees.
...

Disappointing...no restaurants can survive and their employees will all claim unemployment benefits.

It will kill the entire sector. This will lead to a full scale depression that will last for years. The large majority of the food service sector is run by small business that runs franchises. They employ millions. The companies that provide to that space are already shuttered and now, they won’t come back for a very long time.

Well, takeout isn’t working in my neck of the woods because so many are either jobless or working from home. And with so many folks pinching pennies, I suspect eating out, even to support local biz/friends/neighbors is a non-starter.
