On Monday morning I had a delivery to my apartment from the nearby off-licence - or liquor store, as they say over here.
And I put a jokey picture on Twitter of a bottle of gin and eight bottles of tonic, with the caption that at least I had the next week sorted.
After leaving the White House Briefing Room on Monday evening following a marathon two-hour 24-minute press conference, I felt I could have knocked off the whole lot in one sitting.
This has been the most dizzying, jaw-dropping, eyeball-popping, head-spinning news conference I have ever attended. And I was at Bill Clinton's news conference in 1998 when he faced the press for the first time over his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
I was at this president's first White House gathering when he called me "another beauty". I was in Helsinki when he had his first news conference with Vladimir Putin, and seemed to prefer to believe the Russian leader over his own security and intelligence chiefs on interference in the 2016 election.
What made last night's encounter unique was the context. And secondly, this was, if you like, a distillation - all the talk of gin, I think, forced me to use that word - in one news conference of what three and a half years of Donald Trump has been like to cover.
Donald Trump walked into the briefing room with scores to settle with the media. This wasn't about the dead, the desperately sick, the people fearful of catching the virus. This was about him. And more particularly his profound sense of grievance that the media has been critical of his handling of Covid-19.

Saddly, worldmeters shows today at over 2,300 so far in the USA.
And NYC has gone back through their records and added another ~3500 since early March.
2300 new DEATHS or new CASES?
You are correct....
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
I was trying to find a day by day breakdown of new deaths....
Lol
No Fauci

JUST HIM LISTING A WHOS WHO OF THE BUSINESS WORLD
These fools have been suffering for decades and decades. AND it is TERMINAL, for the Republic. Sadly, yes, for the Republic as more and more and more of the 1960 radicals grew up, took over the school and college systems, started brainwashing all the school aged kids and young people. As they grew up, they brainwashed their kids and so on. By the time the Greatest Generation started to die off, the Republic was over the top and headed down hill. Now, as the GG's children, my age group, started retiring and started to die off, those behind us were brainwashed and gone terminally stupid.
The Republic is now in a death roll. Once our generation is gone, America is gone. Liberals and illegals are already starting to mass mob states that were always conservative. Florida, Virginia, the Carolinas, Arizona, Texas, they are all in trouble. Georgia is also on that list. Atlanta is massively liberal and more and more liberals are moving down there from the north to escape the mess they made up there. Now, they are repeating their same stupid mistakes of the north, down here in the South. Even Tennessee scares me.
Alabama and Mississippi, the two MOST conservative and MOST Christian states in this Republic will be the last two to fall. Mainly because we are not big industry states, except for some places. We are farming, growing the needs of many here. We have some auto industries, etc. But, for the most part, we are not made of the crap NY or NY or CAL or WA state are. We are made of the old school, people who started their lives on the land and IN CHURCH!!!
When I lived in WA state, I lived in Kitsap County, a peninsula across Puget Sound from Seattle, where there are tons of Navy personnel and bases. My last memory of the population of the County was about 215,000. I am sure that has changed in the past 16 years. But, back then, we had FIVE CHURCHES in the entire county. One was the Catholic church in Bremerton, One had a HOMOSEXUAL for a pastor, and the other three were of no domination, but were called community churches. My wife and I checked those three out and found them very WANTING on preaching the Bible and the Gospel. Sad. We didn't hang around. We left and found only some TV pastors like Dr. David Jeremiah for our teaching. I would not cross the door way of a so-called "church" with a homo "pastor". THAT is what liberals do to the Church. They destroy it.
Read Como's comments the past couple of days when he says that WE are beating the virus, NOT GOD!!! THAT ladies and gentlemen IS THE PROBLEM GOD has with sinful mankind. SELF!!! ME!! I!!! Yes, we THINK we do it all and GOD has nothing to do with it. WRONG. IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM and has absolutely nothing to do with US!!! Get a grip. It is about Christ Jesus. Not about RetiredArmy or Alabama or anyone else on this web site. Jim Robinson will tell you the same thing. He knows.
Until we come to a knowledge of THAT FACT, that GOD is in control, not us, then we will end up where we will, in the Lake of Fire. Unless we repent. I have. Have you??? If not, time grows short. If you don't believe that, well all I can say is, YOU HAD BETTER BE RIGHT!!! Do so at your own peril!!! If you don't know Him, I would get busy learning. That simple folks, that simple.
What an ultra cuck. He probably sits down to pee. SAD!
Vivid description Amusing.
I bet he is very good to his mother.
Agree!
Smartest President I ever saw, and I’ve been around since FDR.
That woman is a very bad person.
I want to call her a terrible name,
but I shall refrain, rather than sink to her gutter level.
Many of those so called "journalists" have NO CHOICE.
They MUST attack Trump or their corporate masters will replace them.
I have NO sympathy for these A$$HOLES pretending to be journalists. They are, in a sense, "kamikazes!"
Obama never said a word without a teleprompter. He could never have ad libbed himself out of this or any other confrontation. But...he never had to. “How’s your family holding up”? “Are you getting enough sleep sir”? Is how he would’ve been dealt with.
