Funny you say that. #4 buckshot loaded right has a very similar velocity and weight as 22LR out of a shotgun. Except it all arrives at once, 16 or 17 pellets in a 12ga a few less in a 20ga. The question is you want some?

I grew up on a farm and remember my father dropping hogs with a .22 short because he didn’t want to mess up too much brain. He liked souse or hog’s head cheeze.

You might want to take inventory of your firearms and decide which ones came to you without traceable paperwork. I still have a few bought back before 1968, and several bought or traded from friends where I used to work.
