The National Football League announced it will play what is known as the Black national anthem before every Week 1 game, ESPN reported exclusively.
The sports network also reports that the league is considering a plan to add the names of victims of police brutality to the uniforms of players through decals on helmets or patches on jerseys.
The NFL also may produce educational programs about victims, ESPN reported.
I didnt know there were two national anthems a white and black national anthem. No matter. The NFL can screw itself.https://t.co/KUnUdEsHIH

It is unclear if fans would be expected to stand at attention during the singing of Lift Evry Voice And Sing. The Star-Spangled Banner would follow, ESPN reported.
Black communities across the globe continue to be vulnerable in very unique and unsettling ways, UCLA professor Shana Redmond told NPR in 2018. To sing this song is to revive that past but also to recognize, as the lyrics of the song reveal, that there is a hopeful future that might come of it.
Lift Every Voice And Sing, commonly known as the Black national anthem, is expected to be performed live or played before every Week 1 NFL game ESPN

I suspect those who don’t show the proper ‘respect’ for this ‘national anthem’ will be dealt with far different than those who hate this country and take a knee.
O say can see dem watermelons growin
By the moonlight night
It doesn’t matter to me. I’ve been done with the NFL since they started taking a knee.
If they and the BLM would have done it to flatten the curve of Black on Black murder they would have gotten real credence.
This is just too much, and goes too far. I'm permanently done now.
I will not follow any sport that allows any willful disrespect towards this country.
These people are spoiled racists

And we couldn't bring non-Catholics to the Proms....and God forbid we had a Jewish friend.
I must say....my parents always stood with me and of course my dad filled me in on Joe the Bootlegger.
Thanks for posting the lyrics to this Gospel song...I can think of worse things to listen to on Sunday morning.
First, if a Black is born in the USA he/she is an American. If born in Africa but is a citizen of the USA he/she is an American. Second, kneel during our National Anthem and I’m done with the NFL.
Thanks for posting the lyrics. This is not a bad song at all, dont know how it came to be known as the Black National Anthem, but on its own its fine. They are basically going to be singing a hymn to God and I hope they sing all the verses.
I feel like the NFL may have stumbled into a not bad idea here.
At the very least it is a million times better than that hymn to communism, Imagine.
That might be a more accurate description. Have you seen the make up of the nfl recently. Black Felons League is entirely accurate, IMHO.
Danegeld. Both monetary and cultural.
The NFL needs to include decals and patches of the running dollar amount of how much the taxpayers have been victimized to foot the bill for the NFL to operate.
The NFL has also clearly stated that they can't allow staff or fans to be victimized by "police brutality" and as such need to forgo all police protection at events, including hiring off duty law enforcement, and instead pay for their own private, non-public indemnified, protection.
NFL is dead to me.
Never again.
A black national anthem? Is there a Caucasian, Asian, Native American, Native Alaskan or Pacific Islanders National Anthem?
Too bad Jimmy the Greek wasnt here to see this.
I know it’s not much, but wife and I, will not watch, ONE SINGLE GAME.
