Ice Cube Responds to Accusations of Anti-Semitism: ‘I’ve Been Telling My Truth’

Rapper and actor Ice Cube, born O’Shea Jackson, responded to criticism of some of his recent social media posts being anti-Semitic, saying that he’s “been telling my truth.” Among the recent tweets in question include a tweet of a Star of David with a Black Cube of Saturn — which is a symbol for occult worship — and an image of six old white men with hooked noses playing a board game on top of African American men. Ice Cube also tweeted out praise of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

You made millions from your movies, you got to profit from our capitalism. You were not anyone’s victim. At least not back some 20 years ago. Has Farakhan offered to invest in your movie productions if you start selling his brand of Koolaid? Is that what’s going on?

A Lubavitch rabbi I knew many years ago told me a story. While at a college basketball game (he ran the Hillel synagogue on campus), he was hit by a half-empty paper cup of soda and ice by a jeering student who shouted, "You Jew!" . Of course, his immaculate black suit was then soaked with soda and ice. He turned to the cretin who had thrown it and replied, "Thank you!"

When I asked him why he had answered the student in that way, the rabbi replied, "I was flattered to be recognized as a Jew!"

I think I'd rather be recognized in a more positive manner, but I admired how the rabbi handled the situation.
