I kind of live in New York City. Staten island :-) but I have family all over the country and they know what is going on in Manhattan. Because I tell them.

It meshes perfectly with their “anti-bullying” and sensitivity training about “microaggression” in schools and the workplace ... I used to think many of these people were mentally ill, but it is something more insidious than that ... they are evil.

The propaganda press is probably only showing the peaceful marches and interviews with people who lie about the rioters. CNN, etc is smart to be using the term “mostly peaceful” just in case images or words about the vandalism is seen by thier viewers. This way, voters who consume only the leftist press believe the lies.
One of the most infuriating things is those who think they are morally superior doing this - like the woman they interviewed who said they need to show up day after day. Does she work? What is her contribution to society, other than virtue signaling based upon inaccuracies and fallacies?
If the mayors cared about their cities they would authorize the police to shoot anyone throwing a bomb, or hard objects at cops, or setting fire to buildings or cars, or shooting at anyone.
